News that moves you
Summer Edition 2018
Message from the President
The first half of 2018 has been quite successful, with a lot of positive changes and growth. Each of you have been instrumental in the great feedback we have received from customers.

From those that work directly on job sites, to those in the office supporting projects, you all should be very proud of yourselves and your hard work.

Recently, we received amazing feedback from GSK. Matcom was brought in to help with their microfluidizer re-rebuild. Our dedicated and timely work ensured the plant was able to resume its regular production time, which helped produce life saving products for those in need.

Our goal as a company is to always improve and obtain success. There are many initiatives in the works to help us reach this goal. I hope you are just as excited as I am for what is to come!

If you would like to chat, have any questions or concerns, please remember my door is always open.

Ray Goodfellow Golf Tournament

Wednesday June 27th, was the 3rd annual Ray Goodfellow Golf Tournament, where Matcom was a charity sponsor. The day was filled with laughs and some rather sub-par golf.

There were many standout moments including, closing ceremonies by Doug Gilmore and Rod Black, and the amazing food served by Glen Eagle Golf Course. The most memorable moment however was watching the “get-away” golf cart!

Matcom Updates
What on Earth is PR?
As you know the new Public Relations (PR) team has joined Matcom. Most likely you have seen us around snapping pictures for social media or you have read our email requests asking for stories for the newsletter!

We are writers, storytellers, translators and we sometimes extinguish fires! Curious to know more? Be sure to read the full article about how we spend our day!

We are also very eager to meet you and learn about your position at Matcom, so please don't hesitate to say hello.
Casting Call!
We need some volunteers for an upcoming photo shoot! Don't worry, there will be no runway or catwalk, but rather we need to generate some photos to add to our stock photo collection to use on the new and improved website!

We would really appreciate some volunteers to participate wearing your uniform and/or safety gear.

Please contact Alex at , if you are interested!

Odd Sock Month

Don't forget that August is Odd Sock month, to raise money for Jake's House a charity that supports children with Autism and their families.

On every Friday in August contribute $5 and wear a pair of odd socks (for the ladies in head office wear an odd pair of sandals!)

At the end of the month, Matcom will match your contributions for this great initiative.

The PR team will be coming around every Friday to collect your donation and snap some cool pictures for social media!

Nishat Mannan Inspires Other Women!

This past June, the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce hosted the "Women to Women Power Networking Event" for over 80 business women in the community. The event was sponsored by Air Canada and took place at the Eagles Nest Golf Course.

Our Project Manager, Nishat Mannan attended on behalf of Matcom and left with new insight. “It was very inspirational to learn about other women’s stories; the ways many of them juggled their careers and family life was eye opening for me” Nishat said. Nishat herself was a great inspiration for many of the guests there, since she was the only female engineer present!
