Dear Ladue Chapel Friends:
Since there is no Chapel Bell this week, we wanted to share some news with you.
The Session voted unanimously on Wednesday night to continue to keep the building closed for in person worship at this time, in order to keep each other safe in these days when virus statistics are once again climbing.
This was based on the recommendation of the Health Task Force – consisting of 6 medical professionals in our congregation. This decision will be re-evaluated regularly, and will be changed when the COVID-19 statistics in the county improve.
Our Sunday morning worship services will continue to be pre-recorded and available each Sunday morning at 10:30 on our
(no Facebook account necessary!).
The Session also discussed the desire to create small face-to-face gatherings outside the building to re-establish the personal interactions all of us are hungry for. The Session committees will be creating opportunities for fellowship, study, prayer, and mission projects for groups of 25 or less. Masks, pre-registration, and social distancing will be practiced. Stay tuned for more information. And let us know if you want to create an opportunity for this kind of community.
During the month of August, there will be an outdoor (weather permitting) Prayer Service – each Wednesday evening at 7pm on the church lawn next to the Gazebo. Dieter Heinzl and David Erwin will be planning these informal gatherings – with music, prayer, and fellowship. Look for sign up details coming – be sure to bring your mask, your chair, and yourself.
Your staff and Session leadership send all of you blessings as this strange summer continues to unfold –
