Congratulations Mia! 
You are a shining example of the brilliance of LUCA Scholars!

College decisions are rolling in.

We opened a Scholar email this week and had to read it twice:

Yale. Princeton. Cornell.

A first-generation student sharing her college acceptances 
and the moment her whole family started crying.

Then she wrote this:

“I didn’t do this alone.”

That’s the part we carry with us.

Because getting in is one thing.

Having someone guide you, stand by you, 
and believe in you along the way, 

that’s everything.

This is what it looks like when talent meets support.

Mia's Words of Gratitude:

"My family and I want to thank you for the immense amount of help and support that you provided me this past week. Your financial mentorship made me feel ready for a conversation that my family and I were scared to even ask for. Once again, thanks to you, Mrs. Jennifer (Mia's College Coach), and LUCA, another blessing has come to fruition for my family and I. My family and I will forever be grateful to you, and now I know that I can reach out to you whenever there is a financial concept I do not understand. I thank you, Mrs. Jennifer, and the LUCA Program for the work and support you provide to First-Generation Scholars like myself!! Now, I will be able to attend Yale without causing financial strain upon my family. I am so blessed for the opportunities that I have received like this full ride, and I am so blessed to have people like you in my life that are helping me obtain my dreams, and are therefore making my family's version of the American Dream become tangible in our hands."
