Volume 2, Issue 10 | October 2019
The B-I-B-L-E I have worked at the Bible, prayed over the Bible, lived by the Bible for more than 60 years, and I tell you there is no book like the Bible. It is a miracle of literature, a perennial spring of wisdom, a wonder-book of surprises, a revelation of mystery, an infallible guide of conduct and an unspeakable source of comfort.
Give no heed to people who discredit it, for they speak without knowledge. It is the Word of God in the inspired speech of humanity. Read it for yourself. Read it thoroughly. Study it according to its own directions. Live by its principles. Believe its message. Follow its precepts.
No man is uneducated who knows the Bible, and no man is wise who is ignorant of its teachings. Every day is begun at its open page. It lies close at hand in all my work. I never go anywhere without it, and it is my chief joy.
—Samuel Chadwick
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

This past month of September we held our Progressive Revival. What a blessing to hear God speak to us through Bro. Herman Cramer. Did you have chance to hear him? Were you blessed as God spoke to you? I was. I left each service I was able to attend meditating on what Bro. Cramer shared: a life that was changed forever through Christ, God’s guidance and presence with us at all times, He never changes and will never forget us, how we need the Lord. They were encouraging messages, they were challenging messages, they were messages sharing God’s truth, they were messages that opened our eyes to God’s goodness, they were reviving messages. Thank you, Bro. Cramer, for sharing God’s Word with us those 5 days you were with us. They were indeed days of revival. If you missed any of those services, you missed a real blessing.

It made me think about what kind of sermons I have been sharing behind the pulpit. I have had many opportunities to preach in our associational churches, and I have always enjoyed sharing God’s Word. Have my sermons been uplifting? Encouraging? Pointing people to Christ? Being faithful to Him? I hope so. I will continue to prepare sermons that I pray God will use to help His people in their spiritual walk.

Pastors, continue to share God’s Words of truth to your flock. Encourage them and help them on their spiritual journeys. Flock, keep being faithful to attending church and getting involved in serving the Lord through your church. Hebrews 10:25 says “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”  The Lord has equipped each one of us with a spiritual gift. I Corinthians 12:12 says “The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.”  We as Christians need each other and the fellowship we have will help us grow and mature in our journey with the Lord. I believe revival can come to all of us as we draw nearer to the Lord and allow Him to do what He wants done in and through us.

Isn’t it awesome that God wants us to be a part of His Kingdom work? I also see it as very humbling: that God would choose me and my flaws and work His ways in and through me. I hope you see it that way too. God is good to us all the time. Let’s keep walking faithfully with Him.

Your Fellow Servant,
Bro. Loren

Pastor appreciation Many churches observe October as Pastor Appreciation Month. Given the reluctance of many pastors to call attention to themselves, it’s not likely that they will mention anything about being appreciated.
Were someone to ask a pastor, however, what might be done to show appreciation to him or her, the answer would likely be, “Pray for me.”
St. Paul never asked for anything for himself except that others pray for him. To the church at Rome, he wrote, “I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in earnest prayer to God on my behalf, that I may be rescued from the unbelievers in Judea, and that my ministry to Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints, so that by God’s will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company” (Romans 15:30-32, NRSV).
Encourage your pastor by assuring him or her of your prayers and love.
This year's offering will be going to support the River Ministry Mexico Missions.
We will also have a collection area for hygiene kits to be sent to the Laredo area.

On September 24th, 6 of our churches gathered to participate in the National Day of Volunteer Youth Ministry Training hosted by FBC Pleasanton . The group enjoyed the opportunities for learning new ideas for working with youth, as well as the fellowship with other youth volunteers.
On September 27th, 28th, and 29th Faith Baptist Church in Devine, Texas was blessed with the presence of God's awesome power and presence thru the Word of God brought forth by Bro. Loren G. Fast and Worship Music by For His Glory Gospel Group .
We had an awesome time in the presence of our Lord. On Friday evening, Bro. Fast's Word was based on 2 Chronicles 7:14 - If my people called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will l hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and heal their land. He reminded us that God is speaking to us, His followers, the Christians just as He was speaking to the Israelites at that time. Our Nation needs for God's people to sincerely humble themselves, pray and seek God's face. We are at the crossroads of difficult times in our nation. Let us heed to to the message brought forth by God's servant.
On Saturday evening Bro. Fast preached on the Prodigal Son, Luke 15:11. He reminded us that as Christians when a repented soul comes into our midst we should rejoice as this father did with his long lost son. This father did not remind him of the inheritance he had squandered but he received him as he came - repented and not looking for anything but to be a lowly servant for his father. The father chose to run to him and dress him with the best and prepared a feast for his lost son. What a great reminder of how we the people of God should rejoice when someone in our midst repents and comes to know the Lord as his/her Savior.
On Sunday morning after a great breakfast prepared by the congregation there was Worship for one hour, testimonies and God's Word. Bro. Fast preached on Romans 12:1-2. He explained how the Book of Romans is divided into two sections. Romans Chapters 1-11 deals with our sins, God's grace and santification. Chapter 12 through the end of the Book Paul's gets more practical. Paul emphasizes that we now belong to God not to ourselves. Paul is pleading, encouraging God's people to offer our living bodies as a living sacrifice unto the Lord. We no longer belong to ourselves. Bro. Fast made a very important statement, "Not looking for our ability but our availability!!" God purchased us with a price. God did not make an animal sacrifice but a human sacrifice - His Son - the ultimate sacrifice.
Great exegesis of God's Word by God's servant and great worship from For His Glory. We saw our congregation be more involved and rededicating their lives to build up God's Kingdom.
