“There's a sunrise and a sunset every single day, and they're absolutely free. Don't miss so many of them.”
― Jo Walton
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I’ve been thinking about the support the churches give to Frio River Baptist Association and how that support is used. It is a blessing to see what churches working together can do. Your associational office has provided churches with Bibles for VBS, financially supported VBS and Sunday School clinics, provided funding to support the Youth Fusion Progressive Revival, assisted those needing help with mission trip funding, provided support for Operation Christian Love (OCL) and their ministry to those in need, provided tuition support for those taking study courses in Christian education, assisted with church staff ministry retreats and training, and provided financial support to church plants around our state and nation!

The support from churches also helps provide an effective and functioning associational office here in Pearsall. Besides providing for an excellent staff and administrative expenses, the associational office maintains a ministry library available to the churches free of charge. Office equipment and supplies are also available should churches need them. If your church is needing a large conference room for staff and planning meetings, one is available free of charge. The associational office has also been used for Executive Board meetings, special topic conferences/meetings, OCL monthly meetings, fellowship meetings and the annual Executive Board Christmas Celebration.

Your FRBA office also exists to provide support not only to the churches, but also to pastors, staff members and church members who need encouragement and support. Laurie Beth and I do pray for the churches and staff on a daily basis. We welcome anyone coming by the office….we enjoy the visits and the fellowship. At special times of need, our staff may even make visits. Our overall desire is to support you in what God has called you to do.

Your support of the associational office is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your continued support. With everyone working together, more can be accomplished. Let me encourage you to pray for, to continue financially supporting (or begin supporting) and to get involved in working in your association. Acts 1:8 states that “you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” One way to carry out this commission is through the association.
Thank you for all you do in God’s Kingdom work.
Your Fellow Servant,
Bro. Loren

Harvest Community Church of Olathe (one of the church plants currently supported by FRBA) had a great Vacation Bible School in mid-July. We had a team of 8 from FBC Devine, Texas come to work with us. They did a wonderful job of helping us reach the kids in our community. We started with a block party on Sunday to kick off our week of VBS. Our high attendance for the week was 45 kids. We are excited to report that five students accepted Christ as their Savior. We look forward to visiting each student and family about the decisions that were made.

We had a boys vs girls competition to raise money for Mauro and Joanne Zuniga. The Zunigas are church planters in Montrose, Colorado who are working toward starting a Hispanic church plant out of our building in Olathe. The girls won the contest so Pastor Jeff took a pie to the face. The men in the church heard about what happened with the pie and wanted to keep the fun going. They made a deal to double the $282 that was raised by the students in order to pie Tammy (Pastor Jeff's wife) in the face too. They reached their goal so Tammy will be getting the pie this coming Sunday. What a fun way to raise $564 for local missions!
On Sunday the students performed two of the songs they learned during the week for the entire church. It was great to hear the entire congregation clap along. Vacation Bible School is definitely one of the highlights for our church each summer.
Christine FBC & Pearsall FBC recently teamed up for community projects in Christine, Texas. From 6:30am to 1:30pm each day, 20+ teenagers served the community by painting, doing lawn work, rebuilding porches & ramps and enclosing walls on a remodel.

Evenings were spent sharing the Gospel through VBS where 50 kids enjoyed 5 jam-packed nights of fun and fellowship.

Lives were changed!

This story appeared in Anderson House's June 2017 newsletter:
She believed abortion was her only option. When she came through our doors, the weight of the world was resting on her shoulders. Little did she know, God had begun preparing for her two years ago when He first set Anderson House in motion. What an honor it was for us to be able to minister to this young woman and offer her encouragement. After about an hour of visiting with us, this young woman’s demeanor began to change. For the first time, she had options, she had hope, and she had someone praying for her. Several days later, God granted us the unexpected blessing of coming in contact with this precious woman again. Her face lit up as she explained she had decided to keep the baby!
Now, the rest of the story:
If we felt blessed by God before, we are overwhelmed with His graciousness now! We had the incredible privilege of actually laying eyes on this baby, holding her in our arms, and kissing her sweet, chunky cheeks. We are so happy to introduce you to this little one who might not be here if it were not for your donations to Anderson House. You saved this precious life. Soak in those deep, dark, gorgeous eyes!
