Greetings, Pastors and Churches of the Frio River Baptist Association,
I am honored yet humbled by coming to be your next Director of Missions. Even though I have been with the association now for 7 plus years and have gotten to know you as fellow pastors and friends, and even though I was involved with the FRBA years back when I served with the Rio Grande River Ministry, I have to say I am looking forward to working with you again in a new capacity. I believe we have some exciting days ahead of us.
The first 4 words of the Bible say: “In the beginning God….” Since we are beginning a new chapter in FRBA life, I like to keep these words always before us as we partner together in God’s Kingdom work. He has left us a written word of who He is and what He desires of us. Later on, when His Son Jesus came to earth, He said “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness,…” When we seek His way first in all we do, I believe God will bless His work here in the Frio River Baptist Association.
Prayer is a key in carrying out the Lord’s work. We all need to pray individually as well as corporately. I ask that you be in prayer as we begin this new chapter together. Dora and I are still working on getting a home to move into here in Pearsall. I will also be working on learning the ropes of being a Director of Missions. Keep us in your prayers.
Thank you for being faithful to serving the Lord. I look forward to getting to know you and your churches better in the months to come.
Yours in Christ,
Bro. Loren

Operation Christian Love
by Beth Ann Brundrett

As we watch God at work in directing our lives, as an orchestra conductor directs a myriad of instruments, each playing their separate parts, we see a beautiful composition come to life before our eyes. He sets a task before us and provides what is needed to complete the task.
Around the first of February, a load of used single bed sheets was offered to OCL. Before they had been picked up, a request came to OCL from a hospital in Piedras Negras that they were in desperate need of sheets. Not only could we see the hand of God directing this, we could feel His awesome power in aligning the need with the source. How blest we felt to be the medium that God chose to connect them.
Nancy Seals & Debbie Brundrett
continue to administer the meat program with deliveries every two weeks.

Work continues on the
King Ministries
project in Quemado. The trusses (floor joists) are now in place. The decking for the upper area is paid for & ready to be installed. The needed stairway has been constructed, installed & is ready for this next step. It is time to begin electrical, plumbing & A/C work. Let us know if you would like to be a part if this.

The
Frank Banda ministry
has completed its move from the rental storage area to his home in Eagle Pass. The last 16’ x 12’ storage building nears completion, providing a 12’ x 32’ portable storage area. There is an additional area completed by another group that houses the deep freezes, refrigerators, & food. This ministry feeds 300 plus every week. As groups gather, this ministry feeds them the word & then feeds them a meal. Clothing, jackets, blankets, etc. are then distributed.
Mundo de Fe
soup kitchen construction has been completed, while
Mano de Dios
soup kitchen is awaiting better weather before restoring their construction program. Their need for food supplies is critical. Accommodating the increased need for food during the cold winter months has been and continues to be the priority. Several churches & individuals have stepped forward with donations to help meet these needs.

Individual members of
FBC Dilley
provided new sets of sheets for each of the residents of His Island.
Thank you to

A special thank you to the youth and sponsors from
Cotulla FBC
for spending their school holiday working on the Banda Ministries building project.
