Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Beginning a new chapter in your life can be exciting and lot of fun, as well as sort of challenging and humbling. As I begin regular office hours here at the FRBA office in Pearsall, all the above emotions are working simultaneously. That's okay though, as it leads me to understand that this is all God’s Kingdom work and He will be the one working in and through me. It reminds me of the passage in Deut. 31:8 where Moses said to Joshua “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you….” The Lord has gone before me and will be in the midst of this work. So yes, I am excited to be here and looking forward to working with all of you, but at the same time I know that the work will be challenging as well as humbling.
These first days and weeks will be spent getting my office in order as well as learning the ropes of being a Director of Missions. I really appreciate Laurie Beth’s taking the time to help me learn the different computer, phone, and copier systems as well as everything else that goes on here. As I am doing this, I will also begin making appointments to get to know you and your church. That may be through filling the pulpit on a Sunday morning, making a personal visit with the pastor or just visiting on any given Sunday morning to worship with you. Now, I know that will take time, but it is a goal I have
Change! Some really like it. Others don’t. I like change, but I prefer to take it slowly and as the need presents itself. As your new DOM, I don’t plan to come and make sudden changes. I like to familiarize myself with what is going on, then make any adjustments or improvements as needed. I also believe God moves and leads, and my prayer is that all of us will be sensitive to His leading and obedient to what He is saying.
Thank you for this opportunity to be of support and encouragement to you and the churches of Frio River Baptist Association. I look forward to being a part of what God will be doing in and through us as we work together in God’s Kingdom work.
Yours in Christ,
Loren G. Fast

Belen Baptist Church youth
recently attended the
Refuel 2018 Apologetics Retreat
. They came back refueled and charged for the mission God has called them to. Many of them came back ready to stand for their faith and share their faith boldly. The students had a great time in fellowship, fun, and most of all in God’s Word! Refuel 2019 is a definite must for their students again next year.

Operation Christian Love
by Beth Ann Brundrett
|
The landscape is breathtaking as spring time blossoms around us. God’s paint brush supplies us with artwork beyond imagination. As I drive through the countryside, these words from a well-loved hymn: “For the beauty of the earth, for the beauty of the skies, for the love which from our birth over and around us lies” flood through my being. How blessed we are. We must remember to share God’s great love for us in sending His Son to die for us so we can have eternal life. As we recognize Jesus resurrection, may we not forget, God is counting on us to tell others.
As the OCL meat program continues to feed others, may the wonderful volunteers preparing the food & feeding the bodies of so many, be given God’s strength and wisdom as they struggle to feed their souls as well.
