News You Can Use from the Energy Co-op
ANNUAL MEETING UPDATE
Thanks to all the members and customers who joined us on a beautiful fall day at Main Street Landing for our annual meeting. We enjoyed a lively Q&A about heat pumps and rebates while enjoying some fresh donuts and apple cider. For those of you who couldn't join us, click below to see the presentation and annual report.
HOW MUCH IS MY REBATE?
At the Energy Co-op we get asked this question a lot. We know that figuring out which rebates you are eligible for and how much you can get can often be the deciding factor in going ahead with a much-needed efficiency improvement for your home. On the Current Rebates page on our web site, we try to keep links updated to all the entities that offer rebates to help you narrow your search.

We are also watching for news about how the new "Inflation Reduction Act" (IRA) energy incentives will enhance rebates available in Vermont.

In the meantime, Brian's latest blog breaks down what to expect from the IRA and also includes a helpful calculator to estimate your potential rebates.
YOUR YARD: WILDLIFE SANCTUARY?
When you think about reducing your carbon footprint, some solutions may be as close as your own backyard.

Nouvelle Voisins in Montreal has been experimenting with ways to convert urban yards and landscapes into sanctuaries for butterfiles, birds and other wild life. Just a short day trip from the Champlain Valley, you can visit their project gardens on the Ecological Transition Campus on the islands of Parc Jean-Drapeau, where you can see how native plants can serve as alternatives to lawns or conventional ornamental landscaping.
"SUPER PEOPLE" TESTIMONIAL
We love getting positive feedback from our customers and wanted to share a recent comment we enjoyed from a member in Milton who received oil and pellet deliveries plus a furnace service from our team.

"In this day and age where and how did you come up with all these super people?"

We are very fortunate to have great employees and we always appreciate your feedback for a job well done.
HEATING FUEL PRICE TRENDS
In the Spring of 2022, oil pricing began to rapidly increase as production in the US was reduced Then Russia invaded Ukraine upsetting the world supply and demand. The retail price topped out at $6.25 per gallon at the end of April.

Over the course of the last few months there was a steady decline until just the last few weeks where it appears to be rocketing up once again.

To help you stay updated on the ups and downs of the daily pricing, we have set up a new page on our website for quick reference on the current day's heating oil price. Check it out by clicking the button below.
