Summer Concerts Memories

Irina's summer season started in May with a performance of "Roman Fleuve", Violeta Dinescu's violin concerto, with the National Symphony Orchestra of Moldova Republic, and the Four Strings Around the World solo violin project at the Chisinau Art Museum. In July, she was re-invited to mentor and perform with the FAMES Institute Orchestra in Skopje, North Macedonia, in a program titled "An American Story", followed by a five recital tour in Madrid, Burgos, Segovia, and Ohrid Festival with the program "From Bucharest to Madrid", with pianist Daniel del Pino (pictured). Irina was also a featured guest artist in the Halcyon Festival in Portsmouth, NH and Meeting House Festival in Cape Cod, MA, and taught at ARIA International Academy.

2024 - 25 Season at a Glance

This season, Irina will perform extensively in the United States and Europe solo, recital and chamber music concerts. Highlights include performances of the Brahms Double Concerto with cellist Eric Kutz, New Year's Eve Gala with Bay Atlantic Symphony, and recitals in NYC, DC, Dallas and Miami.

Four Strings Around the World gets New Commissions

Thanks to a Puffin Foundation grant, Irina commissioned new works for her solo violin project, from Jamaican composer Mikhail Johnson and American composer Victoria Bond. These pieces will have their world premiere in the NYC's "Cutting Edge" Series at Symphony Space on October 9th at 7.30 pm, alongside works by Violeta Dinescu, Dave Flynn, Reza Vali, Shirish Korde, Jerod Impichchaachaaha' Tate and Scott Flavin.

Projects

As a Fulbright US Scholar, Irina continues her work on building a platform for Romanian violin music. She was hosted from April to July by the National University of Music Bucharest.

Her project vAIolin recently made TV news. In April of this year, Irina became a member of the European Academy for Sciences and Arts.
