The Wilkes County Library building is open to the public.You must cover your nose and mouth with a cloth covering. Non-medical masks, bandanas, or scarves can also be used. We appreciate your cooperation! Contact-free curbside pickup services are also available. Many services are online. Our website and Facebook page have great programs and materials for you to enjoy. A few programs will be held outdoors at the Yadkin Valley Marketplace, the Farmer's Market space in North Wilkesboro.

Wonder Woman wants you to sign up for a library card!
This September, DC’s Wonder Woman is on a new mission as Library Card Sign-up Month Honorary Chair. Wonder Woman is known for strength, compassion, and truth. She symbolizes the value of learning and the role libraries play in transforming lives and strengthening communities through education.

Join the Library's Banned Books Reading Challenge! Pick up a Challenge card at the circulation desk on the Library's lower level. Choose from 3 types: Kids; Chapter Books; Young Adults & Adults. Pick a book from the list of banned or challenged books and read it. Write your information, the title of the book you read, and what you thought of it on the back of the card. Put your finished card in the collection box at the circulation desk.

National Voter Registration Day!
Come to the library to pick up a voter registration form, check your voter information online, and find out how and where to vote in the upcoming general election.

The Wilkes Mystery Book Club is for people who love true crime, thrillers, and all kinds of mysteries but don't have time to go to book clubs. Copies of each month's selection will be available at the library a month in advance, or you may choose to download the eBook via our Libby app.

Our Annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Week of Oct. 5
Drop decorated pumpkins off at the library. Make sure pumpkin is not carved or punctured in decorating it.
Next two weeks: Vote for the best pumpkin.
Oct. 26 Winner will be announced.
