Our Largest Season is Off and Running!
Our Spring 2018 season is off to an amazing start and we could not be more excited to report that we have over 1,900 girls participating in our program this spring! That means that 1,900 girls will learn that they are worthy, capable, and in the driver's seat of their own life.
We would be remiss not to mention that we could not have accomplished this remarkable feat without the help of hundreds of volunteers. First off, a huge energy award to the more than 450 coaches who will be inspiring our girls this spring. We would be unable to run the program without these coaches generously volunteering their time and energy to empower girls in our community. Also, we are sending a big thank you to our site liaisons for supporting the program at their sites and helping recruit girls. You truly hit it out of the park and are helping us reach more girls than ever!
Moreover, we are grateful for our amazing sponsors and donors who have allowed us to provide over 60% of these girls scholarships to participate in our program. Thanks to their support, we were able to accept ALL girls who wished to participate, regardless of ability to pay.

Lastly, we thank YOU for your support. We recognize that ensuring girls realize their self-worth and limitless potential takes a village and we are certainly grateful for ours. We look forward to another amazing season of empowerment and growth!
Don't forget to Save the Date to watch these 1,900 remarkable girls cross the finish line of the QFC Girls on the Run 5K on May 20 th

Save the Date: Give BIG
Wednesday, May 9 th

Save the Date for Seattle's largest day of philanthropic giving, Give Big on May 9 th ! This year will be Give Big's final year, so let's make it count! All donations made to Girls on the Run on this day will enable us to continue expanding our program to new schools and communities next season. This year, thanks to the contributions of our generous donors last year, we will be empowering 1,900 girls. Next year we have a goal of serving an additional 600 new girls (for a total of 2,500 during the 2019 season)! Help us serve more girls by giving BIG (or small!) to GOTR on May 9th!
Meet March's Girl Hero
Superstar Supporter and Board Member, Sherry Williams!
Sherry was first introduced to Girls on the Run in 2010 in her role as Community Affairs Director for Swedish Medical Center. After learning more about the Girls on the Run curriculum and our focus on providing access to all girls in King County, Sherry helped build a partnership between GOTR and Swedish to support scholarships for girls, beginning in the Tukwila and Highline Districts and expanding to provide financial assistance to girls throughout the region. To date, thanks to our partnership with Swedish Medical Center, we have been able to off over 400 girls full scholarships (that’s 26 teams!).
