Charter Amendment Election

Early Voting Begins April 21

Sunnyvale voters will consider a slate of proposed Town Charter amendments on May 2. Many of these updates would bring the Charter into compliance with State law updates, address any legal or administrative issues, and improve the effective application of the Charter to current conditions.

The proposed amendments include the creation of a Parks and Recreation Board and the requirement for a Library Board, which currently exists.

The proposed amendments also include term limits for the Mayor and Town Council members and would change the Mayor's term from two years to three years.

Early voting will be available at Sunnyvale Town Hall, 127 N. Collins Road as follows:

April 21 - 24 (Tues-Friday) 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

April 25 (Saturday) 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

April 26 (Sunday) noon - 6 p.m.

April 27 - April 28 (Mon - Tues) 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Election day voting is from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., also at Sunnyvale Town Hall.

For more information about the Charter Amendment election, visit the Town Secretary's page on the website.

Animal Control Officers Week

Join us in recognizing and appreciating Town staff during Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week!

Our Animal Control Officers serve with compassion, dedication, and professionalism every single day—protecting both people and animals in our community. From rescuing lost pets to responding to emergencies and ensuring animal welfare, their work often goes unseen but is never unappreciated.

Thank you for your commitment to keeping Sunnyvale safe and humane for all.

Are you Dazzled by Dobermans?!

We are putting these sweet Doberman mixes up for adoption on April 21. They were born on February 27 and are now almost eight weeks old. In total, there are five boys and four girls. They are happy, playful, and very socialized. They come running and ready to snuggle with you as soon as they see you.

Their adoption fee is $80 each and includes spay/neuter, rabies vaccine, combo shot, and microchip. They are expected to be big, but that's all the more reason to love them. Come meet these babies at the Animal Shelter, and you might find that you can't resist taking one home!

We would love for you to share this with others and bring awareness to the Sunnyvale Animal Shelter's animals and services. If your family is ready to welcome a new member, we currently have many adoptable pets in our shelter looking for a loving home. Learn more by visiting our Petfinder page or calling (214) 862-4525.

Spring into Safety with Rabies Awareness

Rabies is a deadly virus—but the good news is it’s 100% preventable with a simple vaccine. Keeping your pets up to date on their rabies shots protects not only them, but your family and the entire community.

Wildlife activity increases in the spring, increasing the risk of exposure. Now is the perfect time to make sure your furry friends are protected!

  • Vaccinate your pets
  • Keep dogs on a leash outdoors
  • Avoid contact with wild animals
  • Stay up to date on vaccinations

If you’re unsure whether your pet is current, reach out to your veterinarian to have their records checked for accurate information!

Sunnyvale Updates its Web and Email Addresses

The Town of Sunnyvale has updated its web address to www.SunnyvaleTX.gov. All email addresses now use the same address and the recipient names have been updated. For example: Rachel.Ramsey@townofsunnyvale.org is now rramsey@SunnyvaleTX.gov.

The .gov domain reduces the risk of phishing and impersonation, as only verified government entities can acquire it. Such domains also increase search visibility and are more recognizable by the public.

The old web address and email addresses still work, to allow stakeholders time to adjust to using the new addresses.
