Sights & Sounds From the Annual Tree Lighting

Sunnyvale's annual Christmas tree lighting brings out the kid in all of us! This year's event was no exception as everyone enjoyed the lights, carolers and visits with Santa. Grab a cup of cocoa and get into the holiday spirit as you watch this video recap of Deck the HALL.

Adopt a Pet in Time for the Holidays!

Hello, I'm Sibil! I'm a young, sweet soul. I'm a bit shy at first, but I warm up quickly. I love to play, and my curious nature makes every day an adventure. I might not be the first to greet you, but give me a moment, and I'll be your shadow. I adore learning new tricks, and I'm eager to please.

Hello, I'm Gypsy. I'm a lively spirit who loves to play fetch and tug-of-war. I can be quite the cuddle bug too, curling up next to you while you read or watch TV. My sweetness is irresistible; I'm known to give the gentlest kisses and nuzzles. I've been told I have a heart full of love to give, and I'm ready to share it with a forever family.

All pets adopted from the Town of Sunnyvale will be vaccinated, de-wormed, spayed or neutered and microchipped. If not been done, the adopter will receive a voucher to have them done. All fees are waived to adopt any of our pets.

If your family is ready to add a member, we currently have many adoptable animals in our shelter looking for a new place to call home. Learn more by visiting our Petfinder page or calling (214) 862-4525.

Saving Water = Saving Money

Remember, your annual wastewater rates are based on your water consumption during the months of December, January and February, which can save you about $200 each year.

Reducing indoor and outdoor water use this winter will save you money all year round.

For water conservation tips, visit the Water Resources page on the Town's website.

Don't Pour Fats, Oils and Grease Down Your Drains!

When you pour holiday grease down the drain and have to clean up that mess, you're also pouring money down the drain!

When fats, oils, and grease (FOG) are poured down the drain, they stick to the inside of pipes, gradually hardening and building up until they cause major clogs and sewer backups. This can lead to sewage overflows into homes, streets, and waterways, resulting in costly and inconvenient repairs. Overflowing sewers can also force city crews to shut down streets, causing traffic disruptions and additional expenses for residents and municipalities.

Join the 2024 Holiday Grease Roundup!

Instead of pouring your grease down the drain, participate in the Holiday Grease Roundup and recycle it for free! Visit the Holiday Grease Roundup website to find out how you can properly dispose of fats, oil and grease and defend your drains!
