NOTE - Both of this week's featured pets have recently tested positive for heartworms. The Animal Shelter team has begun treatment, but this treatment will need to be sustained by the adopters. Both of these dogs will see better results in a home than in a shelter setting. We sincerely hope special families will come forward for our two precious canine friends.

Sarge is a one-year-old male Labrador Retriever: Hi there, I'm Sarge! I'm a young chap with a heart full of love. I'm a bit shy at first, but once I get to know you, we'll be best friends. I'm gentle but also curious about the world around me. I love exploring new smells and sounds, but I also enjoy quiet moments of cuddling. I'm playful too, and I can't resist a good game of fetch. I'm looking for a forever home where I can continue to grow and learn. Adopting me means gaining a loyal companion who will bring joy and laughter into your life.

Slim Pickens is a three-year-old male Labrador Retriever: Hello there, I'm Slim Pickens! Life in this shelter is full of fun and games. I'm always eager to play, whether it's a game of fetch or a gentle tug of war. I've got energy to spare, and I love to share it with everyone I meet. My friendly nature makes me a hit with both humans and my fellow canines. I'm a sweet soul who's always up for a cuddle or a friendly pat. I'm as loyal as they come and I promise to bring joy and laughter to your home.

If your family is ready to add a member, we currently have many adoptable animals in our shelter looking for a new place to call home. Learn more by visiting our Petfinder page or calling (214) 862-4525.

Saving Water = Saving Money

Remember, your annual wastewater rates are based on your water consumption during the months of December, January and February, which can save you about $200 each year.

Reducing indoor and outdoor water use this winter will save you money all year round.

For water conservation tips, visit the Water Resources page on the Town's website.

March is Texas Smartscape Month

Did you know that approximately 30% of your water bill is spent on outdoor water use?

More than half of this is used for watering lawns and gardens. Since native and adapted plants require less water than nonadapted plants, you will save money by using less water to maintain them.

Making your landscape a Texas SmartScape landscape can save you money, providing that you reduce your watering accordingly.
