Barnes Bridge Project Begins Next Week

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will begin working on replacing the Duck Creek bridge on Barnes Bridge Road the week of Feb. 10.

The bridge was closed in 2019 due to severe creek erosion undermining segments of the bridge approach slabs. The bridge later collapsed due to continued erosion.

TxDOT expects to complete the bridge work by the end of September. The Town will then begin upgrades on drainage and utility work and targeted pavement rehabilitation in that vicinity. The road and bridge should reopen in mid to late 2026.

Great Weekend for Pet Adoption!

Last weekend was a wonderful time for adoptions from the Sunnyvale Animal Shelter! We are so happy for Chex, Zeus, Sheba, Sienna and Ninja for finally finding their forever homes!

If you are interested in learning more about our adoption events or if you are simply looking for an animal to adopt, visit our Petfinder page or call (214) 862-4525.

Check out these Cute Kitties!

Learn more about them and others on our Petfinder page

Ferguson is a 4-year-old male Domestic Short Hair: Hello, I'm Ferguson. My days are filled with exploration, soft naps, and endless curiosity. I'm the kind of cat who loves to lounge around, but I never miss an opportunity to investigate a new sound or scent. I'm quite the cuddler too, always ready to snuggle up for a good petting session. Life here is comfortable, but I dream of a home where I can share my calm demeanor and inquisitive nature. Why adopt me? Because I promise to fill your life with purrs, head rubs, and a unique companionship that only a cat like me can offer.

Simon is a 3-year-old male Domestic Short Hair: Hello there, I'm Simon. I'm a curious soul, always exploring my surroundings. My independence means I don't need constant attention but enjoy good company. I'm mellow, preferring a peaceful environment to a chaotic one. My loyalty? Unquestionable. I'll be by your side when you need me. I may not be a kitten anymore, but I have plenty of love to give. Why should you adopt me? Well, I'm the perfect companion for those seeking a low maintenance, loving pet. I promise we'll make great memories together.

.

All pets adopted from the Town of Sunnyvale will be vaccinated, dewormed, spayed or neutered and microchipped. If they have not been done, the adopter will receive a voucher to have them done. All fees are waived to adopt any of our pets.

If your family is ready to add a member, we currently have many adoptable animals in our shelter looking for a new place to call home. Learn more by visiting our Petfinder page or calling (214) 862-4525.

Saving Water = Saving Money

Remember, your annual wastewater rates are based on your water consumption during the months of December, January and February, which can save you about $200 each year.

Reducing indoor and outdoor water use this winter will save you money all year round.

For water conservation tips, visit the Water Resources page on the Town's website.
