Sunnyvale to Conduct Sewer Smoke Testing

The Town of Sunnyvale will conduct sanitary sewer smoke-testing this summer. This process helps identify potential issues that may affect system performance. Smoke testing will become an annual process, conducted during the summer months.

More information is available at SunnyvaleTX.gov/SmokeTesting. If you have additional questions, please contact the Public Works department at 972-226-7177 option 6.

Check Out the 2025 Water Quality Report

The Town of Sunnyvale’s 2025 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report is now available to read on our website. This report provides important information about your drinking water and the efforts the water system is making to ensure its safety.

To access our report, visit here.

The Department of Public Works and Utilities is responsible for maintaining all drainage, water, wastewater utilities, and street maintenance and construction. This often requires after-hours labor to ensure the health and safety of residents and businesses. In addition, employees of this department are an integral part of the planning process related to future infrastructure.

Town Website Gets Fresh, New Look!

Website visitors are noting a fresh, new look at SunnyvaleTX.gov! The Town recently refreshed the colors and layout to better reflect a more modern, user-friendly design.

Visitors will also notice some new features. The banner photographs are now a clickable rotator that will be used in the future to link users to important announcements and information. The home page event calendar now offers separate options for public meetings and other events and activities, allowing users to select what is most relevant to them.

The home page also features a new Useful Resources section that enables users to quickly access frequently requested processes and information, such as reporting service outages, paying utility bills, and connecting with various Town departments.

The Sunnyvale Police Department’s new landing page includes similar features and its own customized color palette.

The updated website design is also intended to improve accessibility from mobile devices. This effort is yet another example of how Town leadership and staff continue to work to improve services and enhance the community’s image.

Sunnyvale Welcomes New Police Officer

The Sunnyvale Police Department is excited to welcome a new officer to its team. Victoria Walker was sworn in earlier this week. She will be in field training for the next 16 weeks and will receive her official patrol assignment after completing that process.

Officer Walker is a recent graduate of the North Central Texas Council of Governments – Regional Police Academy. She is excited to serve the Sunnyvale community.

The Town of Sunnyvale is happy to have her join us. Please make her feel welcome if you meet her in our community.

Say Hi to Kimmy!

Kimmy is a three-year-old female Doberman Mix:

In early February, Shelter staff brought her to safety just in time for her to give birth to a beautiful litter of puppies. Since then, the shelter has found loving, permanent homes for all of her babies. Many have followed up with success stories.

Kimmy has also gone through difficult heart worm treatment like a champ and has come out of it officially healthy on the other side.

Kimmy has braved through much, and needs a patient, loving, forever family to show her what it feels like to be a cherished pet. If you have room in your heart for a brave pup who will repay you with endless loyalty, Kimmy is waiting to meet you!

We would love for you to share this with others and bring awareness to the Sunnyvale Animal Shelter's animals and services. If your family is ready to welcome a new member, we currently have many adoptable pets in our shelter looking for a loving home. Learn more by visiting our Petfinder page or calling (214) 862-4525.
