Come meet your neighbors, enjoy fine refreshments, and hear our very special guest, former Dallas Morning News columnist (and current Sunnyvale resident) Steve Blow, as he shares his experiences and attempts to answer the question: “Journalism: What Happened?”

Here are two wonderful pets that will make great furry family additions!

Learn more about this pet and others on our Petfinder page

Sebastian is a 5-year-old male German Shepherd/Alaskan Malamute mix: Hello there, I'm Sebastian. I'm an adult, but that doesn't mean I've lost my playful spirit. In fact, I love a good game of fetch, it makes my tail wag like nothing else. I'm a bit shy at first, but once I get to know you, we'll be best friends. I'm brave too. There's not a vacuum cleaner or noisy appliance that can scare me away. I know life can be tough, but I'm ready to face it head-on, as long as I have a friend by my side.

Beau is a 1-year-old male Black Mouth Cur: Hello, I'm Beau! I've got a young heart full of curiosity. Every new smell, sound, and texture is an adventure. I'm quite a friendly fellow, always eager to meet new friends. My smarts? Oh, I've got plenty! I'm quick to learn new tricks and routines, making it a breeze for me to train. Loyalty is my middle name! I promise to stick by your side through thick and thin. Why should you adopt me? Well, I'm more than just a pet. I'm a companion, a friend, a confidante. I'll bring joy, laughter, and much love to your life.

If your family is ready to add a member, we currently have many adoptable animals in our shelter looking for a new place to call home. Learn more by visiting our Petfinder page or calling (214) 862-4525.

Monthly Outdoor Warning System Test - April 2

The Town of Sunnyvale tests its outdoor warning siren system at noon on the first Wednesday of each month if weather conditions are favorable.

The outdoor warning sirens are designed to alert people who are outdoors to seek shelter and additional information about the nature and severity of the threat. While severe weather and tornados are the most common causes for sirens to be activated, this system is intended to be used as an “all-hazards” alert system.

Sunnyvale residents are also encouraged to register for the Town’s mass notification system to receive emergency alerts via text, email or phone. Subscribers will receive a reminder on the morning of the siren test.

Annual Water System Maintenance Planned March 3-31

The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) will temporarily change the disinfectant in its water treatment process through March 31, 2025. The annual, routine change is necessary to maintain the regional system and year-round water quality.
