Annual Water System Maintenance Underway

The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) will temporarily change the disinfectant in its water treatment process from March 2 - 30, 2026. The annual, routine change is necessary to maintain the regional system and year-round water quality.

Disinfection is a critical part of the water treatment process that keeps drinking water free of harmful microorganisms, such as parasites and viruses.

For more information, visit the NTMWD website.

Charter Amendment Election

Sunnyvale voters will consider a slate of proposed Town Charter amendments on May 2. Many of these updates would bring the Charter into compliance with State law updates, address any legal or administrative issues, and improve the effective application of the Charter to current conditions.

The proposed amendments include the creation of a Parks and Recreation Board and the requirement for a Library Board, which currently exists.

The proposed amendments also include term limits for the Mayor and Town Council members and would change the Mayor's term from two years to three years.

To vote in the May 2 election, voters must be registered by Thursday, April 2, 2026. Early voting will begin on Monday, April 20 and run through Tuesday, April 28.

For more information about the Charter Amendment election, visit the Town Secretary's page on the website.

Get to know Citron!

Learn more about this pet and others on our Petfinder page

Citron is a four-year-old female Domestic Short hair: a sharp-looking, black-coated kitty with an even sharper personality to match! Our “administrative assistant,” pictured here, is curious and loves inspecting all sorts of nooks, crannies, and items. Whether it's rearranging desk items or curling up in a file box to guard important documents, she approaches every task with enthusiasm and precision.

Citron would thrive in a home that appreciates a helpful companion who wants to be involved in daily routines. If you’re looking for a loyal coworker, professional paperweight, and affectionate house supervisor all in one, this black beauty is ready to clock in at her forever home.

We would love for you to share this with others and bring awareness to the Sunnyvale Animal Shelter's animals and services. If your family is ready to welcome a new member, we currently have many adoptable pets in our shelter looking for a loving home. Learn more by visiting our Petfinder page or calling (214) 862-4525.
