The Town of Sunnyvale is seeking public input for a new animal shelter. The Town's existing shelter is not sufficient for the needs of our community and lacks amenities considered standard in modern shelters. The Town is gathering input through an online survey. The survey is open through Nov. 30. Those suggestions and insights will be reviewed by a citizen committee as part of the design process by the Town's project contractor, KSA.

The committee is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. at Sunnyvale Town Hall, 127 N. Collins Road. This meeting is open to the public and provides another opportunity for input.

New Council Member Sworn In

Sunnyvale voters went to the polls earlier this month to elect a new Town Council representative for Place 4, which was recently vacated before the term was finished.

Holly Garland was approved by voters to fill the seat through May 2026 and sworn in during the Town Council's Nov. 10 meeting.

The Town Council holds regular public meetings at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month in the Council Chambers, located at Town Hall 127 N. Collins Rd, Sunnyvale, TX 75182. The Council will not hold its second November meeting due to Thanksgiving. Its next meeting is Monday, Dec. 8.

Sunnyvale Honors Local Veterans

Sunnyvale proudly hosted its annual Salute to Veterans this past Saturday at Town Hall.

The morning began with breakfast and featured bagpipe music to signal the start of the program, which included the Presentation of Colors and the Pledge of Allegiance, remarks from the mayor and other special speakers, a presentation of challenge coins, and the singing of the National Anthem.

We are deeply grateful to all who have served and continue to serve our country!

Get to know Charlie!

Learn more about this pet and others on our Petfinder page

Charlie is a one-year-old male Catahoula Leopard Dog: Hi, I'm Charlie! Life's a game and I'm always ready to play. I've got an abundance of energy that's just waiting to be shared with you. I can turn any lap into a cozy bed. My silly antics are sure to keep you laughing, and my sweet nature will warm your heart. I'm a loyal friend, always ready to give and receive love. My dream is to find a family who will embrace my playful spirit and cherish me. Adopting me means endless joy, laughter, and unconditional love. What could be better than that? I also know basic commands. Come meet me at 371 Long Creek Rd, or call 214-862-4525 for more information about me.

We would love for you to share this with others and bring awareness to the Sunnyvale Animal Shelter's animals and services. If your family is ready to welcome a new member, we currently have many adoptable pets in our shelter looking for a loving home. Learn more by visiting our Petfinder page or calling (214) 862-4525.
