Road and Infrastructure Projects

Upcoming Projects

The Town of Sunnyvale continues to improve its roads and infrastructure. The Clay Road improvement project will include concrete panel replacements as well as landscaping enhancements. In support of TxDOT's US 80 project, the Town of Sunnyvale will begin relocating water utilities throughout the corridor.

Watch for construction activities for both of these projects in late 2024 or early 2025.

East Fork Bridge Update

Repairs are underway on the East Fork Bridge over Duck Creek. Spring floods caused structural damage, prompting the Town of Sunnyvale to close the bridge. Repair construction is expected to last through November.

Visit our Road Projects page for updates.

Collins Road Beautification Project Underway

A key beautification project is underway. The Town of Sunnyvale is working to improve the look of Collins Road from US 80 all the way through the roundabout at Tripp Road by adding landscaping and irrigation along the medians and in the Tripp Roundabout.

Additional enhancements will include water fountains and hardscape in the roundabout area. This project is expected to continue into mid-2025.

Collins Road from US 80 south to the intersection of Collins Road and Old Barn Lane will also see similar upgrades next year as part of a separate project.

Sunnyvale’s Town Manager Jeff Jones is being honored by his peers for his 30 years as a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). The association supports its members with data, information, training and professional development opportunities.

Sunnyvale Mayor Saji George says the Town is fortunate to have Jeff’s expertise. “His leadership and prudent financial strategies have strengthened Sunnyvale’s future and enabled the Town to improve its bond rating from AA to AA+.”

Jeff was recognized during the ICMA annual conference this week in Pittsburgh. He has served as Sunnyvale’s Town Manager since June 2022. He has served in executive management roles in various Texas cities, as well as in Wyoming and Kansas.
