Preserving Louisville Water Tower’s history for the future
Restoration of the historic Louisville Water Tower is about 75% finished. Work began in summer 2022 to restore the Tower and repair the company’s original Pumping Station No. 1 that sits behind it.

“Renovations, whether at your home or a National Historic Landmark, inspire an array of emotions from disappointment to excitement," said Megan Jones, Supervisor of Event Operations. "This process has been no different, but with any building you love, the end result is always worth the journey. Now, I am looking forward to sharing the end results with our community!”

Louisville Water held a news conference last week to share the progress on the Tower renovation with the community, so you also can watch reports on WAVE, WLKY, WDRB, and WHAS — and you can watch a video featuring our own Channa Newman (check out her profile below).

“My job is to lead the team in telling the story of tap water, in a variety of settings, to water users of all ages," said Education & Outreach Manager Channa Newman. "We do this through classroom programs, community education partnerships, Louisville Pure Tap® events and products. It’s great to see everyone from young children in a pre-school classroom to older adults at a church event making a connection to water.”
JCPS graduate eyes engineering degree after winning Louisville Water Scholarship
Erik Ballard recently graduated from duPont Manual High School, just a few months after winning Louisville Water's $10,000 Thomas Family Scholarship. Ballard and his parents were invited to a meet and greet with members of Louisville Water’s executive leadership team, where the student announced he will study engineering at the University of Kentucky in the fall.

“I’m an engineer myself and it’s exciting that we can help someone who is interested in the same field,” said President and CEO Spencer Bruce.
