Colorectal Cancer Awareness | March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, a time to encourage loved ones to make an appointment to get screened for this leading cause of cancer death among men and women under age 50. Many with colon cancer do not experience symptoms until it spreads beyond the intestines, which is why screening is so important. It is one of the few cancers that can be prevented with timely screening; however, many prolong the necessary tests, like a colonoscopy, which can be life-saving. It is recommended to begin screening for colorectal cancer around age 45, but speak to your doctor about the best timing for you.
Benefits of Certified Wildlife Habitats | The benefits of using native plant species in your yard or garden are immeasurable. You’ll save on water and care costs because the native species are particularly well-adapted to thrive in South Florida. Additionally, using native plants supports local wildlife by providing foundational insect species with food and shelter.
