April is Global Volunteer Month; April 20-26 is National Volunteer Week

April is here, and with it comes Global Volunteer Month. Furthermore, April 20-26 is National Volunteer Week — so mark your calendars!

Both Global Volunteer Month and National Volunteer week are fantastic times to celebrate the power of service and community that lies at the very heart of our mission!

As Optimists, this month presents a special opportunity to double down on our commitment to positive action. We encourage every Club and every member to actively engage in volunteer efforts throughout April.

Here’s how you can make a difference:

Get Involved: Participate in your local Club's planned service projects, or find an individual volunteer opportunity that supports youth or strengthens your community. Remember, every contribution, big or small, makes a significant impact!

Share Your Optimism: While you're out there volunteering and making a difference, you're also showcasing the spirit of Optimism in action! This is the perfect time to talk to your neighbors and community members about what your Club does for the community!

Invite Others: Share stories about how Optimists bring out the best in youth, communities and ourselves. Don't hesitate to invite interested individuals to learn more about our organization or come to your club's next meeting. Volunteering side-by-side is a natural way to introduce others to Optimism.

Let's make this Global Volunteer Month a powerful demonstration of our dedication. Let's serve our communities, share our purpose, and inspire others to join us in bringing out the best.
