2024 International Convention


Get ready to be entertained, Optimists!


The party starts the moment you step foot in Canada.


Kick off the convention with our Taste of Canada Reception on Saturday, June 22nd, at 5:30 p.m., where you'll indulge in regional delicacies and signature cocktails while mingling with fellow Optimists from around the world.


The Opening Ceremony will follow, emceed by award-winning broadcaster Steven Bull. Get ready for a night of unforgettable performances, including the 23 Optimist Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron, singer/songwriter Shaylyn, indigenous women's drum group Strong Water Singers, the singer-songwriter Mark Crampsie, and the DUNAI-Ukrainian Hopak Dancers. 

Sunday, June 23rd, join us for the Heritage of Optimism Brunch to honor our International Paast Presidents and be entertained by y the Rozmaring Hungarian Folk Dance Group.

And don't miss Trivia Night from 8-10:30 p.m., where you can test your knowledge and have a few laughs with friends.

Monday, June 24th, get dressed to the nines for the President's Banquet & Ball. The reception starts at 6:30 p.m., followed by the banquet at 7:30 p.m. Then, dance the night away with The Madhatters, a Niagara rock quartet, from 9:30-11:30 p.m.

Youth Activities

Journey Behind the Falls

Bring the Children or Your Children's Children Along!


Why not make it a family affair? The little ones can join in the festivities and have a blast with the fun activities we have planned. While you adults enjoy the Optimist meeting and programs, the children can participate in age-appropriate games, crafts, and entertainment tailored just for them. It'll be a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time together while also allowing you to be productive with your club responsibilities. We strive to create an inclusive, family-friendly environment where everyone feels welcome and can make cherished memories.


  • Sunday, June 23: Clifton Hill Fun Pass (including lunch!) and games at the hotel.
  • Monday, June 24: Journey Behind the Falls, Victoria Park, Butterfly Conservatory, Boston Pizza (all-you-can-eat pizza and games!), and the light show at Victoria Park.
  • Tuesday, June 25: Niagara Fury, Victoria Park, and Glow-in-the-Dark Mini Putt.
