Immanuel is in a contest with other area Lutheran churches to see who can collect the most items. We're so grateful to all who helped donate underwear for this great need. Winner announced on Reformation Sunday, Oct. 25th!

Dear SNAPGap friends,

With back-to-school coming soon SNAPGap will be distributing shampoo and laundry sheets on August 26th at the Vineyard Food Pantry, along with Interfaith Action’s monthly purchase of toilet paper. Please join us in helping approximately 150 households through these difficult times. Volunteers Needed for Sunday Lunch at St. Paul's Lutheran

We need teams to plan, purchase, prepare and serve the Sunday lunch at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1004 Greenwood in Evanston. The meal is served at Noon and teams are welcome to bring the food or prepare in the soup kitchen. Open dates are September 6, October 4, October 25, November 15, and Dec. 6! We really need volunteers quickly! Please let us know if you would like to learn more about forming a team! Contact Paula paula.ketcham@gmail.com.

Join Bright Stars of Bethlehem in Celebrating Palestine!

Bright Stars of Bethlehem is hosting a trip this November 2 - 11, 2026; inviting travelers to participate and engage fully with the land, the people and the culture of Palestine. The journey also includes visits to sacred sites that reveal the history of the land. Join us in being present in Palestine, and let the land, the people and the culture share their stories. Pr. Mark and Susan Sloss are joining the trip and some slots may still be available. Books to Bethlehem

Dar al-Kalima University is in need of books and resources for their ever-growing library. These educational resources are helping to establish a learning center with the latest research and information. This is where you come in. Pr. Mark and Susan are happy to pack your book purchase donations and bring them along when they travel on the Bright Stars of Bethlehem trip!

• Purchase the materials and have them shipped to you
• Write your name and where you are from on the inside cover
• Bring them to Immanuel/Pr. Mark where they'll be collected until departure

You may ask, “Why not just ship it directly there?” Unfortunately, shipping books directly to Palestine is not the best option. Often mail and packages never arrive at their destination. Thanks for bringing needed materials to further the education of our students at the university!
