| | God does not promise that the path of the disciple will be easy. Jeremiah feels the pain of rejection from those who do not want to hear what he has to say. Jesus declares that his words may bring stark division. Even so, we need not be afraid for God accounts for each hair on our heads. Though we may experience rejection, frustration, division, and death, God’s grace and love make us a new creation each day. Marked with the cross and filled with holy food, we are sent from worship to witness to Christ in the world. | | | |

Serve Boldly Youth Ministries Return to Lodge at Immanuel
Group 2: Sun. June 21 - Fri. June 26, 2026
As a reminder, youth and staff from the Serve Boldly youth ministries/Water's Edge Ministires will be lodging at Immanuel in two separate sessions and using Fellowship Hall, the Kitchen, and the downstairs community and Sunday School rooms. Council has granted SB majority use of the church while they stay. If you have any questions, please contact Jane at 847-864-4464; parish-admin@immanuelevanston.org. Kit & Jim McCarthy are serving as Liaisons.

An ABBA Candlelight Experience in Evanston, IL
Friday, July 10, 2026, 7:00 pm & 9:00 pm
Immanuel is hosting a special performance by Lumos Experiences musicians on Friday, July 10, 2026, in the sanctuary. There will be two concerts, one beginning at 7:00 pm and the second one at 9:00 pm. Performances are held by "candlelight" and Lumos states, "we feel that music should be more than just heard, it should be felt..." For more information and ticket sales, click on the link below.

See flyers below - every Thursday at 6:00 pm - 6:30 pm - come and join all who have something to say. At two other locations in Evanston.

Saturday, June 20, is World Refugee Day. On this day, we are called to join people around the world in supporting and advocating for the millions of our neighbors who have been forced to flee their homes. Today that calling feels especially urgent.
This unprecedented level of displacement is being driven by conflicts in many different regions. In Central and South America, families are searching for safety from violence. In Eastern Europe, the Russia-Ukraine war has driven millions from their homes. In Gaza and the West Bank, violence has displaced countless families, leaving many without basic necessities or a path home. And in Sudan, ongoing conflict has created the world’s largest displacement crisis, pushing families across borders with little more than hope for survival.
Lutheran Disaster Response is already at work in each of these regions and in over 50 countries around the world, accompanying disaster survivors such as refugees and internally displaced people with compassion and respect for their human dignity.
