"Faith That Feeds"
We believe that faith should feed and nurture our spirits.
We believe also that faith should lead us to feed people
in the many different ways they hunger,
both physically and spiritually.

Hybrid Sunday Worship

The First Sunday of Advent

November 30, 2025

Service at 10:30 am

The new church year begins with a wake-up call: Christ is coming soon! In today’s readings both Paul and Jesus challenge us to wake from sleep, for we know neither the day nor hour of the Lord’s coming. Isaiah proclaims the day when God will gather all people on the holy mountain and there will be no more war or suffering. Though we vigilantly watch for the promised day of salvation, we wait for what we already have: Christ comes among us this day as the word and meal that strengthens our faith in the promises of God.

Praying with the Saints in Advent

Wednesdays, December 3, 10, 17, 2025

7:00 pm

During our midweek evening prayer worship, we will use Holden Evening Prayer liturgy around reflections on the lives of saints that are commemorated during the month of December.

Commemorations illuminate various aspects of the church’s life and mission through the lives of women and men who have followed Christ in succeeding generations.

Even as we look to Christ as our light, breaking through the darkness of these often cold and weary days, we can also see that light reflected—however imperfectly—in the lives of ordinary people. May this great cloud of witnesses inspire our prayer and our reflecting the light of Christ in our own ordinary lives.

The Saints we will remember (and the day of their commemoration)

December 3 - Love Seen and Felt - John of Damascus (Dec. 4), Nicholas (Dec. 6)

December 10 - Love Heard and Confessed - Ambrose (Dec. 7), Lucy (Dec. 13)

December 17Love Desired and Fulfilled - John of the Cross (Dec. 14), Katharina von Bora Luther (Dec. 20)
