LWR Quilts & Kits reach displaced families in the Democratic Republic of Congo

When you’ve lost everything, the warmth of a quilt — handmade with love — can bring incredible comfort. Fela Mbahibwe and her children know firsthand. Watch the video to see how the quilts are spreading warmth and love.

National Underwear Day is this Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026!

Connections for the Homeless

New, in-package, adult underwear is one of our greatest needs. This year Connections has set a new goal of collection 5,000 pairs of underwear to benefit Hilda's Place. Immanuel is in a contest with other area Lutheran churches to see who can collect the most items. Winner announced on Reformation Sunday, Oct. 25th.

Needed: New, adult underwear

Men's boxer briefs, sizes S-XL (we have enough size XXL+)

Women's briefs, sizes S-XL (we have enough size XXL+)

There will be a National Underwear Day Drive-Through Party on Saturday, August 8th at 9 am-11 am at Hilda's Place, across the street on Lake St. from Immanuel. You can bring your donations to the Drive-Through, too.

Volunteers Needed for Sunday Lunch at St. Paul's Lutheran

We need teams to plan, purchase, prepare and serve the Sunday lunch at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1004 Greenwood in Evanston. The meal is served at Noon and teams are welcome to bring the food or prepare in the soup kitchen. 

Open dates are September 6, October 4, October 25, November 15, and Dec. 6! We really need volunteers quickly! Please let us know if you would like to learn more about forming a team! Contact Paula paula.ketcham@gmail.com.
