"Faith That Feeds"
We believe that faith should feed and nurture our spirits.
We believe also that faith should lead us to feed people
in the many different ways they hunger,
both physically and spiritually.

Hybrid Sunday Worship

The Second Sunday of Christmas

January 4, 2026

Service at 10:30 am

Within the gospel reading’s profound words lies the simple message that God is revealed in a human person. Though we may try to understand how the Word existed with God from the beginning of time, the wonder we celebrate at Christmas is that the Word continues to dwell among us. Christ comes among us in the gathered assembly, the scriptures, the waters of new birth, and the bread and the wine. Through these ordinary gifts we receive the fullness of God’s grace and truth.

Feeding Our Faith

Sunday, January 4, 9:00 am

Join our Adult Discussion Class on Sundays. Gatherings include viewing short videos and lively discussions. You can participate either in-person (Fellowship Hall) or via Zoom.

Ongoing until TBD – Healing the Heart of Democracy – Our Discussion will center on Parker Palmer’s book written back in 2011, but maybe even more pertinent and needed today in our current political climate. We will follow a discussion guide and watch the videos that were made to coincide with group discussions. While helpful to have read the book, it’s not at all necessary to participate and find meaning in the sessions. We will go at our own pace, probably a chapter or two each week. Come for all, or any part of it.

Midweek Adult Spiritual Growth & Study on Tuesdays, 2-3pm, in person or online.

Join us for shared discussion of upcoming worship texts.

Interfaith Action's 7th Annual Walk for Warmth

Monday, January 19, 2026, 11:00 am

We are inviting you to join us Monday, January 19th as we highlight the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and spotlight our faith communities that host our Overnight Shelter! This is a family friendly event (though we ask that you please do not bring any dogs). We will have a short program at 11 AM at First United Methodist Church (FUMC) of Evanston prior to the walk. Walkers have the choice of a 2 mile walk past our faith communities that host the Overnight Shelter or a shorter walk around the block of FUMC. Register today and join us in raising awareness of homelessness in our community on January 19th.

A Reconciling in Christ congregation.
