America at 250: Holding gratitude and humility

Bishop Curry issues his second in a series of monthly messages that continue through the end of this year, titled "All Together in One Place."

Dear church,

As we look toward the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, many of us will celebrate with fireworks, parades and barbecues. Independence Day often brings us together with family and friends. Yet there is more that connects us than our communal celebrations. We are also connected through a common vision.

An ABBA Candlelight Experience in Evanston, IL

Friday, July 10, 2026, 7:00 pm & 9:00 pm

Immanuel is hosting a special performance by Lumos Experiences musicians on Friday, July 10, 2026, in the sanctuary. There will be two concerts, one beginning at 7:00 pm and the second one at 9:00 pm. Performances are held by "candlelight" and Lumos states, "we feel that music should be more than just heard, it should be felt..."

The musical theme is a "Classical ABBA Tribute!" performed by a string trio. Selections to be performed include Mamma Mia, Take a chance on me, Money money money, One of us, I do I do i do, Fernando, and Dancing Queen.
