"Faith That Feeds"
We believe that faith should feed and nurture our spirits.
We believe also that faith should lead us to feed people
in the many different ways they hunger,
both physically and spiritually.

Hybrid Sunday Worship

The Nineteenth Sunday of Pentecost

Sunday, October 4, 2026

Service at 10:30 am

In today’s gospel reading, Jesus tells a vineyard parable, which serves as an image of Israel, the prophets’ mission, and Christ’s death. For Christians, the vineyard also speaks of God’s love poured out in the blood of Christ, given to us for the forgiveness of sin. Grafted onto Christ the vine at baptism, we are nourished with wine and bread so that we may share Christ’s sufferings and know the power of his resurrection.

Community News & Resources

Northminster Presbyterian Church, located at 2515 Central Park in Evanston, is pleased to announce the opening of Lilies of Gaza – Women Artists in the Time of War in its Tower Gallery exhibit space.

Based on the book Lilies of Gaza – Women Artists in the Time of War (available on Amazon), this beautifully curated show unveils intimate life stories and artistic journeys of women who have faced war, loss, and displacement – yet chose to resist through art. Each artist’s story captures moments of pain and perseverance, and together their voices form a collective testimony of survival, hope and artistic defiance in the face of devastation.

Lilies of Gaza comes to Northminster through Bright Stars of Bethlehem, a U.S. nonprofit which raises awareness and support for Dar al-Kalima University, the first and only university for arts, culture, and design in all of Palestine.

The exhibit will be in place through October 4th with several opportunities for viewing: - On Sunday mornings from 11:00am – 12:30pm; - On Saturday, October 3rd from 1:00pm – 3:00pm as part of the Evanston Made First Saturday tours; - By appointment by calling 847-869-9210. Lilies of Gaza – Women Artists in the Time of War is hosted by the Worship, Music and the Arts Committee of Northminster Presbyterian Church.

Books to Bethlehem with Bright Stars of Bethlehem in Celebrates Palestine!

Bright Stars of Bethlehem is hosting a trip November 2 - 11, 2026 to fully engage with the land, the people, and the culture of Palestine. Pr. Mark and Susan Sloss will join the trip. Dar al-Kalima University needs books and resources for their ever-growing library. This is where you come in. Pr. Mark and Susan will pack your book purchase donations and bring them along. Or, you can donate monetarily to the Books to Bethlehem.

Visit this list at Amazon. (Please use AmazonSmile in order to give back to Bright Stars with every Amazon purchase you make!)

  • Purchase the materials and have them shipped to you
  • Write your name and where you are from on the inside cover
  • Bring them to Immanuel/Pr. Mark where they'll be collected until departure

You may ask, “Why not just ship it directly there?” Unfortunately, shipping books directly to Palestine is not the best option because mail and packages never arrive at their destination. Thanks for bringing needed materials to further the education of our students at the university!

A Reconciling in Christ congregation.
