Nominations Open for SLA Frances Morrison Award

Do you know someone who has gone above and beyond in furthering library service in Saskatchewan?


Nominate them for the SLA Frances Morrison Award! This is an award of merit for outstanding service to libraries given in the name of one of Saskatchewan's exceptional librarians. Any person, group, or organization who fits this description can be nominated!


The nomination deadline is March 1, 2023. The nominator must hold an individual SLA membership, but the nominee does not need to be an SLA member.

Continuing Education Grants Still Available!


Are you planning to attend the Saskatchewan Libraries Conference? Have another professional development or learning opportunity you are hoping to attend? Apply for one of SLA's continuing education grants!


We have three types of grants available:


  1. Category 1: A grant of up to $500 for individuals seeking assistance with attendance at a continuing education opportunity (conference, workshop, etc.) of their choosing. You must be an individual SLA member to qualify.
  2. Category 2: A grant of up to $1,000 for any individual or institutional member seeking assistance with the planning and promotion of a continuing education opportunity to be held in Saskatchewan.
  3. Category 3: A grant of up to $750 for any person who is attending the Saskatchewan Libraries Conference for the first time. You must currently work in a Saskatchewan library and be an individual or institutional SLA member to qualify.


The grant application deadline is February 15, 2023.
