President Stanley and Georgetown University President John DeGioia were two of the ten heads of colleges and universities from across the globe who took part in the HeForShe IMPACT 10X10X10 initiative, which brought together leaders from government, business and higher education to develop plans for making gender equality a foundational aspect of their respective institutions.

A team of researchers led by Laurie Shroyer published a study comparing the survival and health of 2,203 veterans five years after surgery, with or without using a heart-lung machine or “on pump.” It revealed that on pump use increased the survival rate and reduced other health problems.

Raphael Davis is a neurosurgeon, professor and chair of neurological surgery, co-director of the Neurosciences Institute and co-director of the Skull Base Surgery Center. His expertise includes the treatment of pituitary tumors and acoustic neuromas, as well as complex spinal surgery. He is pursuing research in the areas of novel vaccines for the treatment of glioblastomas, the development of an artificial disc, and the use of digital technology in the management of acoustic neuroma patients (vestibular schwannomas).
