Business competition finalists announced
|
The Round Rock Public Library has announced the six finalists in its Biz.ability Business Plan Competition. Targeted to Round Rock-based startup entrepreneurs, the competition features a prize package worth more than $13,500 through partnerships with the Round Rock Chamber and Dell Technologies.

Reuse water system to expand along new road
|
The City of Round Rock will expand its water reuse system with the installation of a new pipeline along the Kenney Fort Boulevard Road extension project currently under construction. Round Rock's growing water reuse program began in 1998 as an effort to reduce the City’s potable water use.

Round Rock police investigating homicide
|
Round Rock Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that occurred Tuesday evening. “Our officers are committed to keeping this city one of the safest in the country. We will work tirelessly to ensure justice is served in this case," Police Chief Allen Banks said. "This was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.”

UniverCity introduce teens to City government
|
The City of Round Rock is once again teaming up with Round Rock ISD to host its popular UniverCity citizen education program for juniors and seniors in high school. Applications will be accepted through Friday, April 29, and the program will meet from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. from Monday, June 6, through Thursday, June 16.

Start your engines for the third annual Play for All 500 taking place at the track at the Play for All Park. There are several divisions to choose from, including divisions for manual wheelchairs and power wheelchairs. Cost is $5 and registration is required.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

To dispose of your prescription medications, simply drive through the parking lot of the Round Rock Police Department. Take-back programs are a safe method for disposing of prescription drugs to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
