Shop the Rock for a better community
Improve your community by shopping the Rock this holiday season! By choosing to spend your money at businesses in Round Rock, you help build our community through sales tax. The half-cent economic development portion of sales tax has resulted in $582 million worth of projects to support Round Rock’s growth since 1997.

Outsmart package pirates this holiday season
Package thefts tend to rise during the holiday season, so let the Round Rock Police Department be your front porch as you do your online shopping this year! Ensure secure delivery of your packages by shipping them to the Round Rock Police Department starting Nov. 8. It's all part of our award-winning Operation Front Porch program.

Fire Department provides home surveys during neighborhood events
The City of Round Rock’s Neighborhood Services Division and the Round Rock Fire Department teamed up this fall to make our neighborhoods safer. During neighborhood cleanup events, the Round Rock Fire Department has been providing free home safety surveys that include checking for working smoke detectors, appliance recalls and installation of new smoke detectors and stovetop fire suppression devices. Recently, the City has focused on providing these neighborhoods cleanups in areas that have high rates of service calls to the Fire Department.
The holidays are a perfect time to ensure your smoke alarms are in working condition. Be sure to follow these tips:

  • Install smoke alarms inside each bedroom, outside each sleeping area and on every level of the home.
  • Test smoke alarms at least once a month using the test button.
  • Make sure everyone in the home understands the sound of the smoke alarm and knows how to respond.
  • Never paint smoke alarms. Paint, stickers, or other decorations could keep the alarms from working.
