Register for emergency alerts this storm season
This week's severe weather served as a reminder that we are entering storm season. Now is a great time to register your cell phone number and/or email address with Warn Central Texas to receive alerts by text, phone and/or email. The program is available in Williamson County and surrounding counties through the Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG).

Resident survey results among best in nation
Round Rock residents have a very positive perception of the City, and satisfaction with City services is much higher than other communities, according to a recent community survey. Nearly 90 percent of residents are satisfied with the overall quality of life in Round Rock, and 87 percent of residents are satisfied with the overall quality of City services, compared to only 1 percent who were dissatisfied.

Nominations now open for 2021 Local Legends
The Local Legend Award recognizes contributions to Round Rock’s history in the areas of historic preservation, history, culture, diversity, and/or heritage. Nominations for the 2021 awards are due May 31. Selection criteria, nomination form and instructions are available at roundrocktexas.gov/locallegends.

RRPD celebrates Women's History Month
From the swearing in of Round Rock Police Department's first female officer in 1980, many women in the Department have made their mark on our community. We've compiled profiles of some of the most influential women in Round Rock Police Department's history in honor of Women's History Month.

FEATURE STORY
Vaccinations open to all Texans starting Monday
Texas continues to receive doses of vaccines, and is distributing statewide to hospitals, pharmacies, local health departments, freestanding emergency rooms and other clinics. All adults will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in Texas beginning Monday, March 29.

Williamson County with its partners Family Hospital Systems and Curative are operating COVID-19 vaccination sites in Williamson County. Family Hospital Systems will continue vaccinations of individuals in the priority groups by appointment only at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex, and Curative will vaccinate by appointment at the Georgetown ISD Athletic Complex and Dell Diamond, 3400 E. Palm Valley Blvd. People must first pre-register on the County’s centralized waitlist in order to receive an appointment. Learn more

Williamson County has set up a call center to serve as a resource for residents interested in COVID-19 vaccine information. The call center number is 512-943-1600 and is answered Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Parks employees win big at maintenance rodeo
Round Rock’s Parks Maintenance Team member Oscar Flores won first place in the Nail Drive Competition and Michael Giedritis and Jaime Salas won second place in the Irrigation Competition at the Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) annual Statewide Maintenance Rodeo in Frisco.

Round Rock Public Library updates hours
The Round Rock Public Library is now welcoming visitors from 10 a.m. through 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, with curbside hours from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays. We are encouraging patrons to spend 30 minutes or less at the library, and face coverings are required.

Spring Clean-Up Bulk Item Pickup

Do away with old furniture or other bulk items without the hassle and expense of hauling it off. It’s easy and it’s free. Simply place acceptable bulk items neatly at the curb, by 7 a.m. on your scheduled Spring Clean-Up Collection Day.

  • Monday and Wednesday customers will have Spring Clean-Up on Saturday, April 3.
  • Tuesday customers will have Spring Clean-Up on Saturday, April 10.
  • Thursday customers will have Spring Clean-Up on Saturday, April 17.
  • Friday customers will have Spring Clean-Up on Saturday, April 24.
