Round Rock to integrate electric vehicles into fleet
Round Rock City Council approved the purchase of nine Ford Lightning electric pickup trucks earlier this month. The new pickups will replace existing vehicles as a part of the City’s scheduled fleet replacement process.

City recognized for historic preservation work
The City of Round Rock and Principal Planner Joelle Jordan were recognized this month by local nonprofit Round Rock Preservation for the City's work to preserve local history during the group’s 2021 Annual Recognition Awards.

Program helps police find missing family members
Round Rock Police Department's Take Me Home program helps return missing loved ones to their families by providing officers with important information regarding individuals that are unable to speak or properly identify themselves, or if the individual becomes disoriented or acts in a manner that could be misinterpreted by first responders. Families register the individual with the system, including identifying information, a current photo and caregiver contact information.

Deadline draws near for business competition
Ready to start kickstart your dream into reality? The Round Rock Public Library is accepting submissions to the Biz.ability Business Plan Competition. Targeted to Round Rock-based startup entrepreneurs, the competition features prizes worth more than $13,500 thanks to program partnerships with the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce and Dell Technologies. Entrants must submit a plan for a startup business and meet with a Round Rock librarian and Austin SCORE mentor at least once prior to March 15.

Summer camp registration opens March 1
The City of Round Rock hosts a variety of summer camp programs to give kids a positive and nurturing environment that stimulates the physical and emotional development of each child through diverse activities including arts and crafts, sports, field trips, swimming and more. Registration for these programs begins March 1.

Learn to save water at Find and Fix Leaks class
Fix A Leak Week, which takes place in March, is an annual reminder to check household plumbing fixtures and irrigation systems for leaks. Join the City of Round Rock each Wednesday evening in March to learn how to find and fix water leaks around your property. The class is free and includes hands-on demonstrations.

Join the City of Round Rock for a park and trail volunteer cleanup opportunity at Lake Creek Park. Bring the entire family to pick up litter and participate in other beautification efforts in the park and on the trail system. Volunteers should meet at the Lake Creek Park Pavilion at 9 a.m. and will receive snacks and a free t-shirt. No registration is needed.
