Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

Our parent-teacher Fall Conferences (student-led in many grades) are coming at the end of the month! Our Preschool thru 8th Grade Fall Conferences sign-ups are now open for October 28th and 29th, with additional limited availability on the 27th. These are required for everyone! Pre-School and PreK families, please coordinate your conferences directly with your teachers through Brightwheel. Students are expected to participate in the 1st thru 8th grades. Please allow families with multiple students first chance at these sign-ups so they can schedule their multiple conferences conveniently (single-child families, please be considerate and wait till Sunday, Oct 17th to start signing-up). More info here!

Tuition Assistance Applications window it open!
The Fulcrum Tuition Assistance Grant program is designed for families and students currently enrolled or applying for the next school year in any Catholic school in the Archdiocese of Seattle. At OLG, we partner with Fulcrum to provide over $100,000 in tuition assistance each year to our school families. Families must apply each year through the FACTS Grant and Aid portal to qualify for a grant—all awards are made based on financial need.

Fulcrum Application deadline is in January,
but we ask you to complete it before Dec 17, OLG's Christmas Break!
Band News
A special word of gratitude to the students and families participating in the band program! Whether you are the enthusiastic beginner or a seasoned veteran, your desire to learn is inspiring! Returning to on-campus band makes my heart happy! I am back home!! I'll be at a retreat this Friday (10/15) with other musicians and Kennedy HS teachers, but am so happy to back on the OLG campus and safely making music! See you next week!

CYO Sports
Rocket League is back!
CYO will be registering teams of 3 players from our parish/school to compete against other local Catholic parishes and schools in a private CYO season of Rocket League (4th-8th grade). Visit our website registration portal to sign up your child by next Sunday, Oct 17. If your child has 2 friends they want to be a team with, indicate in the registration who you request your teammates to be. Otherwise, we will work to group your child with other kids looking to play. Each team will need to have one parent point of contact take the lead as “Coach” and help facilitate a mutually agreeable time to play with the opponent, so in your registration please also indicate if you are willing to be the team “Coach”. Games will be played each week, starting Oct 18. Register here for $15/player (https://www.teamsideline.com/sites/seattlecyo/home)

Welcome Kit Drive: Evolving Needs
You may have seen the list, compiled by OLG Immigrant Ministry, with items needed to create Welcome Kits for Afghan Refugees. We learned this week that the larger community stepped up in a BIG WAY and the resettlement organizations no longer have storage space available! In response, we are changing directions for our Welcome Kit drive this upcoming Sunday, Oct 17. If you already purchased items from the list, feel free to drop them by the Walmesley Center between 9:30am-1:30pm and we will store them until the agencies can receive them. If you haven’t done your shopping yet, please consider buying gift cards to places like Safeway, Fred Meyer or Goodwill instead. If you prefer, you can give directly to the resettlement and relief organizations: Lutheran Immigrant and Refugee ServicesAfghan Health Initiative, or World Relief. Our Immigrant Ministry has also compiled a list of ways you can get more involved Thank you for your care and generosity!
Seattle City Council Forum: Meet the Candidates
On Monday, Oct 18, OLG is co-hosting a Seattle City Council Candidate Forum for the District 8 and 9 at-large positions with Candidates Teresa Mosqueda & Kenneth Wilson and Sara Nelson & Nikkita Oliver. Doors open at 6:30pm with the event running from 7-8:30pm in the Walmesley Center, moderated by our own Brian Callanan. Voter registration/updates available. Masks required. Live streaming options available

Volunteers Needed for a Steering Committee
As. Fr. Kevin writes in this week’s Pastor’s Letter, we are in the process of hiring an architect to help us in the design and creation of the sacred space for our tabernacle and new place of prayer. The Steering Committee will provide input throughout the entire process. Time commitment will involve attending several meetings for the next 6-7 months. Contact Helen if interested.

Volunteers Needed To Help Organize Church Pews
This job entails restocking the pews along with putting the Breaking Bread and Spirit & Song books back into their proper order. Since we are only using every other pew right now, it is half the work!! It would be great to have two to three “teams” who can rotate each week. Great ministry for a family. Contact Helen 206-935-0358.
