Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

We've been busy since the last day of school! Teachers have been cleaning up their classrooms and finalizing report cards. They've also been getting ready for summer with their professional development goals, time for their family, and getting all things in order. In other events, The Loop-the-Lupe at the beginning of June was a great success with 1st grade students earning the highest participation and over 500 hours of volunteering from parish and school familiies! The parish Vacation Bible Camp was huge this week around campus. And next week our school summer camps are all ready to go! Thank you parents, teachers, and students for making this 2022 "Year of the Family" come to life in so many ways. We look forward to some summer vacations and time to reflect and regenerate!

A few business items to note
  • Report cards: K-8 students have report cards emailed to families, but also a hard-copy with additional information has been posted today through the USPS.
  • The year ahead: Get a head start on school supplies and mark your calendar for Aug 24th for our School Supply Drop Off & ELC Orientation. Our first day of school is Aug 30th, BEFORE Labor Day, please arrange your summer travel accordingly. For more about upcoming dates, bookmark/subscribe to our online calendar, or for quick reference, our at-a-glance calendar (subject to change).
  • Change from FACTs to SchoolAdmin: Read more info below!.
  • Update your Vaccinations: EVERYONE 6months and older qualifies now! For more information about COVID-19 vaccination for children and youth: kingcounty.gov/vaccine/youth. And don't forget to update the school office with other regularly scheduled vaccinations as well!

Just as each student has some "summer packet" of work, so do we here in the school office. Our incoming Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Joanne Simpson, and our incoming 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Katie McKeehan-Hart, will be sending out welcome letters to those grades soon. Our 1st grade position remains open at this time as well as some other various parish and school staff openings. Continue to share this page for all current position openings as we grow together!

Yours in Christ,

Anton Kramer
Have a great summer!

Loop the ‘Lupe THANK YOU
Thanks for another great Loop the 'Lupe! We had a record-high 515 registrants, with the 1st grade class earning the "Highest Participation Award" at OLG School. With those numbers, plus another great sponsorship drive and a successful donation campaign, "The Loop" brought in close to $20,000 in profits to go towards OLG's social outreach work. Thanks for helping build up this fun community event and we'll see you next June to GET IN THE LOOP!
Afghan Sponsorship
The OLG community has begun a formal sponsorship of an Afghan refugee family through the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia’s Refugee Resettlement Office. We have been matched with a young couple with a 3-year-old girl and a baby on the way! The family, who speak Pashto, is in an apartment in Tukwila and the father is already working! Our St. Vincent de Paul conference is working on getting them furniture and household goods but there are many other needs.  If you are interested in volunteering for this effort and/or want to learn more, contact Kathleen

Catholic Community Services Thank You!
Each December, we participate in a collection to support the work of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services (CCS/CHS). Every year, CCS/CHS serves, on average, 100,000 neighbors in need in Western Washington through more than 170 programs. 25% of what we collect comes back to our parish to support our Outreach Ministries too. For the past five years, our contributions have steadily increased with our 2022 giving a whopping 7.44 times more than what we gave in 2018, earning us a nearly $8400 rebate! Thank you for your continued generosity OLG!

CRSRice Bowl Thank You!
A big thanks to all who participated in the Rice Bowl program this year! As a community we raised over $3300! Thanks to your kindness we have touched the lives of the people served by Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the official international humanitarian assistance program of the Catholic Church. Seventy-five percent of donations goes to CRS’s work in 100+ countries while twenty-five percent stays in Western Washington to help fund local hunger-alleviation efforts (OLG received grants for both the Peace Garden and St. Vincent de Paul).

Catholic Relief Services: Providing Ongoing Nutrition Support in Afghanistan
U.S. troops may be gone, but Catholic Relief Services continues to aid desperate Afghans under Taliban rule. CRS has begun an emergency campaign to get food on tables and crops in the field as a hunger catastrophe looms in Afghanistan. Visit www.crs.org for more information and to see how you can help!
