Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

Pictured here is our 4th grade super Loop-the-Lupe' class last week receiving an award for their great participation. They showed great spirit last month in that fun event, and now it's time for all of us to show spirit in our annual Jog-A-Thon tomorrow! We're so excited to be back "in person" and running safely tomorrow. Our first real JAT in a long time... check your email earlier today for a whole host of info, or simply read-on for a few short reminders. We'll be running, walking, jumping, dancing, or otherwise moving all around Walt Hundley Field in masks and bright colors with our class cohorts. I am looking forward to the fun!

Thank you parents for your great work supporting the Jog-A-Thon, helping make sure a smooth Picture Day took place this week, and in your excellent attendance at our Curriculum Nights these past few weeks. We've focused on our relationships and routines getting established this year and it's paying off in our whole school. Thank you for partnering together to keep our entire community safe. As 5th through 8th grade students begin to access technology more this week and in coming days, we'll continue to send special bulletins updating these grade levels on our additional tech education and safety measures. Our final Curriculum Night for Preschool families is happening tonight.

One final reminder is next week our Fall MAPs window opens and teachers will begin working with classes on this bi-annual measurement of student progress. For those not familiar with the Measurement of Academic Progress (MAPs) program, more info is here. We take this data serious as it helps all of us have an indicator of student growth through the years, but we also know it is only one of many indicators of student success. Results are shared at parent-student conferences in October. More info on exact dates for each class's sessions these coming weeks will come directly from your teacher. Please remember to sleep well the day before, and have a good breakfast that morning!
Yours in Christ,

Anton Kramer
