Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

What a great Jog-A-Thon this past week! Being back in person with running, jogging, dancing, moving safely was so great for the kids (and adult volunteers). Tomorrow is the pizza party for the top lap getters, with more prizes to come as it's also our last day of donating in your child's name! We'll have top class and individual fundraisers announced next week. Read on for $ updates and more!

Tomorrow is our "First Friday Spirit Wear" day (first Friday of the month) and students are encouraged to dress in the spirit of their favorite sports team... that could be supporting our new Kraken Ice Hockey team, Mariner's Baseball (in search for a long-awaited postseason), Seahawks, or even our very own OLG & CYO teams... many many possibilities and the regular school uniform is also a great option! Please save the hair coloring or other craziness for later this month (10/31) but come with a shirt/sweatshirt/etc that shows your favorite team!

This weekend is the kickoff of our parish Faith Family Formation programs and the annual Catechetical Sunday (blessing of all educators, students, etc). Next weekend continues with our 7th & 8th graders Confirmation kickoff: 1st Retreat! More info below in the Important Dates and Parish sections of our newsletter.

Our Fall Measurement of Academic Progress (MAPs) continues next week and the following week. More info is here and in last week's newsletter. Thank you for helping your child sleep well, and have a good breakfast each morning! Read on for reminders on keeping 34th Ave SW clear for our PS/PreK families, many upcoming October Events, and more!
Yours in Christ,

Anton Kramer

Commitment/Volunteer Hours

It's here! It's here! Help us make this year's OLG Halloween Carnival the best party of the year (for our kids, of course) by signing up for a shift (or two)!

We need lots of volunteers to make this event a success!
We are also excited to announce the return of an OLG tradition: Trunk-or-Treat! We are asking a family or group from each grade to decorate a car (bonus points for a vintage ride), fill the trunk with candy (provided by the PO), and park in a festive row for little Trick-or-Treaters to enjoy! It is a competition, and the winner gets a $50 gift card! Room parents will be in touch next week seeking one Trunk-or-Treat volunteer per grade.
Are you looking for other ways to help? How about donating a cake for the cake walk! Details in next week's newsletter!

COVID Vaccine and Booster Clinic
On Sunday, Oct 17, OLG will host a COVID vaccine clinic in the Walmesley Center/gym 9:30am-1:30pm with both the Moderna and the Pfizer vaccine. You can get your first, second, or booster shot. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends the following groups should receive a Pfizer booster at least 6 months after completing their Pfizer primary series: people aged 65 and older, residents aged 18 years and older in long-term care settings, people aged 50-64 years with underlying medical conditions. They also recommend the following groups may receive a Pfizer booster: people 18-49 years with underlying medical conditions, people aged 18-64 years at increased risk for COVID exposure and transmission because of occupational and institutional setting. The CDC also recommends that people with moderately to severely compromised immune systems receive an additional does at least 28 days after a second dose of Pfizer or Moderna. You can learn more at: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html  To sign up for an appointment, visit our website. Walk-ups welcome as space allows.
