Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

Last weekend was a tremendous Day of Service! Thank you to Karen Fitton, Lauren Hobbs, and the amazing staff and volunteers who made it all come together. All your help bringing in Care Kit items resulted in an amazing work party. We have a few at the school office and many more at the parish office if you know a homeless or homebound person you'd like to take a kit to!

This week our 6th graders are at Outdoor Education Camp at CYO Camp Hamilton! I'm excited to take a little trip up tomorrow morning to visit with them and ask about all the cool science they are learning! Our fund-a-need Science for the Next Generation is moving ahead with professional learning time and new kits arriving early in May. More than half the money for these new kits is coming from our fund-a-need efforts, a bit more through federal funding we receive for professional development, and the rest through our regular curriculum budget. Thank you for your support!

Speaking of May, that means Jog-a-Thon, is coming soon! Get all your pledges in by May 3rd (easy to do online... see link above and on the school webpage!

Finally, a shout out to our fabulous 4th grade who led us in a great all-school mass focused on reconciliation today. If you weren't able to make it this morning (or to last nights' parish reconciliation service), there is one more opportunity Saturday at 1pm. More Holy Week news as well below and on the parish website. Our students will be reflecting each morning next week by starting each day in silent prayer. We end the week on Friday with a "Living Stations of the Cross" led by our 7th graders. Happy Holy Week!!!
Yours in Christ,

Anton Kramer

Saturday, May 18th at 7 pm

In the weeks leading up to the show, 8th graders will raise funds for this year’s musical by hosting a  Snack Shack in the lunch room on April 17, May 1, 8 and 15 . We will also be available after school outside the Walmesley Center on May 3 and 10 . Youth Migrant Project Applications Available Now!
The Youth Migrant Project is back! We’ll be teaming up with St. James and St. Anne’s for a fun and life-changing week, July 21  st -26  th . The trip is open to graduating 8  th  graders (or 14+ years old) through graduating high school seniors. We stay at Immaculate in Sedro-Woolley and serve in a variety of migrant ministries throughout the Skagit Valley, including distributing food and clothing, creating a fiesta for the children in a camp, working in the fields, and attending Mass in a camp. In addition to serving, we will learn about migrant life and reflect on our faith in light of these realities. There are two mandatory preparation meetings on June 2 and June 30, from 5-7pm. The cost of the trip is $200 but partial scholarships are available. Because there are three parishes participating, space is very limited. If you are interested in attending or have questions, contact Jennifer at  206-935-0358  x.120.    Applications are available in the parish office and   online , and are due Sunday, May 12.

Volunteer with Holy Rosary’s Women Shelter
Did you know that OLG is now partnering with Holy Rosary to host a shelter for up to 10 women every Saturday and Sunday night from September to June?  With homelessness on the rise, this is a great opportunity to help provide a safe space for women in our community. Men, women, and girls over 15 are all welcome to help. You can serve as a driver or overnight host or provide food for the women. If you’re interested in getting involved, contact Diane or visit the website .
