Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

Our final week of Advent and school before Christmas! What Joy we've had around our school this 3rd week of Advent! From our totally re-framed "Christmas Sing-a-Long", to 8th grade leadership of Advent prayer services and joining at Wednesday's mass, an introduction of our newest staff, Mrs. Thrall, to our 3rd graders, and topping it off with an incredible burst of donations to the SVdP Student Council led Food Drive... what a week! Thank you Ms. Sager, Mrs. Milanese, Mrs. McKamey, and all the musicians and staff for the wonderful Christmas Sign-A-Long concert. The picture is a little memory of 2019, but here are some highlights of 2020's great sharing of Christmas Joy!

This Friday, Dec. 18th, you will be receiving your K-8th grade child's T1 report card via email from our new "ALMA" system. Thank you to teachers and staff for all your hard work moving to this new gradebook system in the middle of all the other challenges we've faced this fall! A printed copy may be requested by calling the school office, (206) 935-0651.
Monday, January 4th, our Preschool, PreK, and Kindergarten students return to campus for in-person classes. Between Gvnr Inslee's proclamation this week and CDC quarantine updates, we feel confident our schools' protocols are meeting these standards for safety. State and public health recognize all the work our teachers and families are doing to maintain an environment of safe learning. We plan to bring more classes back to in-person modality as the month of January moves ahead. Updates on particular classes and dates will be forthcoming and will be given two weeks notice for families and teachers to prepare.

As we move into the Christmas break these next two weeks, we pray for your safety and sincere efforts to allow our return to in-person class to move ahead this January. Thank you for doing everything in to keep you, your family, and our whole community safe! Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love to you all this final week of Advent. May the blessings of the Christmas season bring you peace and rest!
Yours in Christ,

Anton Kramer

Would you partner with us as we end 2020 for $200? $200 can help us in so many ways: a new chromebook for a student, a year of SEL (counseling) curriculum for our counselor, a continuing ed class for a teacher to help navigate virtual/hybird/"new normal", or even a much needed part of tuition assistance for a student to continue their OLG journey. Your partnership is appreciated!

2021 Annual OLG Auction- Full Steam Ahead!

The OLG Auction is the largest fundraiser of the year – the most significant contributor to the school's operating budget. For the first time in school history, our Auction will be virtual. We need all of you to help make it a success!

Q: How can I help?
A: By registering for the Auction in advance. Don't wait until Auction night. Don't even wait until the first Silent Auction opens in February. Registration available first week in January. Unlike traditional auctions that are limited to the bidders who pay to play, our online platform is open to anyone and everyone interested in raising money for the school.

Q: What's our Fund-a-Need going to be this year?
A: Bathroom updates! Old fixtures that don't work, doors that don't lock, dented metal stalls, bubblegum pink/baby blue walls – sound familiar?  We have the opportunity through this year's Auction Fund-a-Need to update the bathrooms our children use every day. The more we raise, the more we can do – imagine being able to surprise our kids in the fall with bright, modern bathrooms on every floor (and fully-locking stalls).

Q: Can I still reserve my custom OLG glassybaby?
A: Yes! Parents, teachers, and all friends of OLG are invited to reserve "Midnight" votives or rockers (rocks glasses) or "Splash" drinkers (stemless wine glasses) – all custom-etched with OLG's official school logo here through Dec. 31, 2020. Cost is $100, but you don't pay until Auction night, March 6. Some 40 percent of each purchase goes directly toward our fundraising goal of $125,000.

Questions? E-mail Auction Chair Hilary Reeves or OLG Development Director Rebecca Arcarese.
