Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

Happy Thursday! Three major events to note for next week: Safe Parking ( begins Monday 2/24) and our parent education series for Internet Safety (Tuesday 2/25) are two big items. The third is of course the beginning of Lent. There are three opportunities for Ash Wednesday (2/26) in our parish. See our calendar of events below!

As I mentioned on Monday, our parish Safe Parking program is about to begin and we've been "preparing the guest room" quite a bit this week. Several of you have seen Sal out working on last parts of the "hospitality hut" Our students have also walked the area this week and had discussions with their teachers on how we welcome guests into our home. Teachers and families have already begun the hands-on ministry preparing the area as well. If your family would also like to help, there are multiple ways to get connected with this parish program serving others. Please read on in the parish section below.

Finally, we almost exactly a week away from the school Auction (2/29). Ticket sales are brisk, and this is the last weekend to buy a ticket to a wonderful night that benefits all our students and helps so much to improve our programs each and every year: olgevents.org
Praying for our Confirmands this weekend,

Anton Kramer

Attendance Policy Reminder
In this season of unexpected illness and travel plans, we would like to remind you about OLG's attendance policy. It can be found on page 13 in the Family Handbook. Parents must notify the school office (206-935-0651) daily when their child is absent. Student absences must include a written notice to the classroom teacher from the parent or guardian and cc the school office ( Shelley Bradley and Laura Wong).

In the case of extended or pre-planned absences, parents should notify teachers via email and copy the school office with the details. Your assistance is greatly appreciated!
Internet Safety Presentations
An Internet Safety Presentation for students in grades 5 to 8 will be held Thursday, Feb 27th, 1:45-2:45 pm in the School Hall.

A presentation for parents will be held on Tuesday Feb 25th, 6:30-7:30 pm in the School Hall. In speaking with our presenter Stefanie, she says the information she’ll share has updates technologically speaking (new apps, etc.), along with new stats and pertinent news stories that speak to the heart of cyber bullying and personal safety.

Day of Service 2020: Books to Prisoners
Join the 100+ parishioners who have signed up for the Day of Service on Saturday, March 28 ! With 16 projects left to choose from, you may need more information! This week's featured project is Books for Prisoners, a non-profit that began in Seattle in the early 1970s to help foster love of reading for incarcerated individuals. By providing tools for education and self-fulfillment, Books for Prisoners offers hope, and opens minds for our brothers and sisters behind bars. Volunteers will spend the day answering book request letters by locating the books and preparing them to be mailed. This service project is limited to ten volunteers, ages 15 and up.
