OLG Students show their ash marks from Ash Wednesday Mass
Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

Ashes to Ashes...Lent has begun! As we began our Lenten journey at Mass yesterday, Fr. Kevin made the wonderful analogy of spring training and baseball's three fundamental skills (throwing, catching, and hitting). Lent the "spring training" for us to similarly "shake off the dust" and practice three fundamentals of our faith (almsgiving, praying, and fasting). As we move from winter into spring, Lent provides us a great time to reflect on what we want to do more, and what we should let go of to make way for rebirth and new growth.

As a school we take this time as well to reflect and grow closer. We'll have prayer services each Monday morning in the school hall, and smaller student reflections on Wednesdays on each floor of the school. You are welcome to join us at either of these prayerful moments with students! For those seeking paths for almsgiving, we have the CRSRiceBowls that have gone home with students, and also our Homeless Kit drive that culminates on the Day of Service.

In another way, our annual Parent Survey also gives each family a voice in things you think our school should "let go of to make way for rebirth and new growth." More than 70 people have responded already... thank you for your time and thoughtfulness!

Some partial results of the survey will be shared at the State of the School meeting next Wednesday, March 4th @ 6:30pm. It is expected at least one parent from each family should attend.

Spring is almost here... in fact its coming this Saturday night at the Auction! A few tickets remain available for walk-up purchase at the door. Rebecca, Michelle, Tina and crew have been working hard on this great event and I'm excited to see so many parishioners and families this Saturday.
Yours in Christ,

Anton Kramer
