Thanks so much to everyone who attended Cougar Carnival on Friday! It was a fantastic time, and you can see tons of pictures below. We did tape Mrs. Schermetzler to the wall and she was able to stick for a good period of time! Thank you also to the Cougar Carnival Committee and volunteers who put this event on. It is such a fantastic event benefiting our school and we are so thankful to those of you who played a role in its success!
Be sure to check out the information below about Spring Conferences, which will take place on Thursday, March 6. More details and the sign-up genius are below.
Track & Field registration and Girls on the Run registration both open today! Find the links below in the Cougar Athletics section.
We are enjoying some warmer temps this week and the kids are excited to get outside for recess! Please continue to send cold weather & snow gear so that they can play in the snow before it melts.
Other than that, be sure to check out all the goodies in this week's newsletter! There are some fun Forensics and basketball updates, Dine Out Night info, and more!
Have a great week!
Best regards,

The St. Alphonsus Food Pantry Service Project is Going Great!
With Valentine's Day in February, we are showing our community our love and care through this project to benefit the St. Alphonsus Food Pantry.
This project will consist of collecting food items to stock the pantry, and will also give students a chance to take a tour of the food pantry and have a Q&A session with the pantry's regularly staffed volunteers. All students will have a tour of the Food Pantry on either Tuesday, February 17 or Wednesday, February 18.
The Service Project Leadership Team has decided that we will donate "meal kits" to the pantry so that those who come to the pantry can get a full meal kit and not just random items that could make up a meal.
Each week we will feature a new meal kit and the items needed. Each grade will be responsible for donating an assigned item so that we can ensure full meal kits.
This week we are putting together MEAT & VEGGIE MEAL KITS. Here are the classroom assignments:
Grades 3K, 6, & 8: Rice or instant mashed potatoes
Grades 4K, 1, & 7: Canned vegetables
Grades 5K, 2, & 3: Canned or pouch protein- tuna, chicken, beef
Grades 4 & 5: Canned or pouch protein- tuna, chicken, beef

Another Successful Cougar Carnival in the Books!
Thank you to everyone who joined us on Friday for the Cougar Carnival. It was so nice to see so many families together enjoying the evening! We even got Mrs. S to stick to the wall!!!
A huge thank you to everyone who helped to organize the event, room parents for coordinating the classroom games, teachers and staff for the amazing raffles and showing off their ping pong skills, and to everyone who donated items and/or their time to help make this event happen. This event is a beloved St. Alphonsus tradition and it truly takes many hands to make the evening a success. We are so appreciative of everyone who helped in any way, shape or form!
Please enjoy some photos from the evening!

Track & Field Registration Now Open!
As we shake off the chill of this recent cold spell, it’s exciting to think that track season is just around the corner! Track and Field is a fantastic sport that offers something for everyone.
Whether your kids love sprinting, enjoy the challenge of long-distance running, or prefer the thrill of jumping and throwing, Track has it all!
Track is unique in that it combines the camaraderie of a team sport with the opportunity for individual achievements. It’s a great way for kids to push themselves, set personal goals, and beat their own records, all while being part of a supportive team environment.
Encourage your kids in grades 5-8 to join the Track Team this season! It’s not just about competition; it’s about building friendships, staying active, and having fun. You can register today using this link and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to Athletic Director Nick Warrichaiet or Track & Field Coach Ben Rezutek.

Parish Mission is coming up on March 2, 3, & 4!
This year's parish mission is all about the source of all authentic, lasting hope: Jesus. And our speaker is a great man by the name of Rich Harter. And the best news is that we are offering child care for those that need it!
We do need a general idea of how many kids are coming so we can plan accordingly. If you know you will be making use of child care for the Parish Mission, please sign up at this link.
You can learn more about the Parish Mission via the flyer below!
