Dear St. Alphonsus Families,
We had a fantastic Catholic Schools Week filled with so many fun events and activities throughout the week. We hope your students had an amazing time celebrating our "Small School, Big Faith." Please be sure to check out our Instagram and Facebook pages to see lots of videos and photos from throughout the week!
-
A reminder that there is NO SCHOOL this Friday, February 7 or Monday, February 10, as our faculty & staff will be participating in a staff in-service for Sustaining the Mission, a requirement of the Archdiocese each year. We hope you enjoy a nice and relaxing long weekend!
-
While we're off, stop by the Field Workshop here in the Greendale Village from Thursday through Monday. Participating in one of their sessions or booking a party during this time is an easy way to earn money for our school! You can see details about this below.
- Please note that there was a typo in the newsletter last week. The Girls on the Run 5K will take place on May 31, not May 3! Consider having your daughter in grades 3, 4, & 5 join this wonderful and rewarding program--you can find more details below.
-
Tickets are on sale now for the latest theatre production out of St. Thomas More High School, The Wizard of Oz, and this show will feature some of St. Alphonsus's very own! See all the details below but plan to come watch our own Lullaby League Munchkin, 3rd grader Claire W., in addition to many St. Al's alum!
- Cougar Carnival is less than a month away! Planning to volunteer? Good news, we have added a Safeguarding session here at St. Al's this week for those of you who still need to be safeguarded for this event. Check out all the details below. In addition, new this year: Mrs. Schermetzler has agreed to be TAPED TO THE WALL for some fun at this event. Get your tickets and use them to purchase strips of duct tape and let's see how long we can get her to "hang" out in the gym!
Thank you as always for your support of our school. We are so grateful that you have chosen St. Alphonsus for your children!
Have a great week!
Best regards,
Ms. Parey, Principal
Mrs. Schermetzler & Mrs. Bruhn, Leadership Team

The St. Alphonsus Food Pantry Service Project Kicks Off Today!
With Valentine's Day in February, we are showing our community our love and care through this project to benefit the St. Alphonsus Food Pantry.
This project will consist of collecting food items to stock the pantry, and will also give students a chance to take a tour of the food pantry and have a Q&A session with the pantry's regularly staffed volunteers.
The Service Project Leadership Team has decided that we will donate "meal kits" to the pantry so that those who come to the pantry can get a full meal kit and not just random items that could make up a meal.
Each week we will feature a new meal kit and the items needed. Each grade will be responsible for donating an assigned item so that we can ensure full meal kits.
This week we are putting together SOUP DINNER KITS. Here are the classroom assignments:
Grades 3K, 6, & 8: Soup--this includes cans, packages, and mixes
Grades 4K, 1, & 7: Accompanying Crackers--this includes Goldfish, Oyster Crackers, and Saltines
Grades 5K, 2, & 3: Add-Ins--this includes noodles, veggies, etc.
Grades 4 & 5: Soup--this includes cans, packages, and mixes
Next week will be putting together PASTA DINNER KITS. Our next set of assignments will be shared at the end of the week!
