Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

Thank you all for your flexibility as we weathered the late-starts this week! The snow and ice is winter fun for kids, but as Principal and a parent myself I know the safety of our kids and the staff is paramount. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding. I hope to take a good rest from those 5:30am phone/message/texts for a while, as I'm sure you all are as well :)

Speaking of communications, I know there have been a lot recently. A couple of especially important ones to note here:
  1. Invite to Special Persons Day and info is in your child's backpack tonight... please check that info as your child will want to be a big part of that invitation process!
  2. Your family has been invited to complete your Intent to Return. If for some reason that email didn't get to your family, please use the link here. This is a great way to help us with staffing and budget decisions for our next school year!
  3. Open House on Sunday the 26th also means our big push for any new families who want to join our school next year... that also means you can earn a referral bonus on next year's tuition! Read more here: Referral Program
Below there is plenty more to read including tax info, volleyball info, and another update on the progress of the Safe Parking program. Enjoy the MLK Monday, and we look forward to next week working hard on our academics while also preparing for Open House & the fun of Catholic Schools' Week!
Yours in Christ,

Anton Kramer

Volunteer for the January Community Meal
The Community Meal happens each month at OLG, providing a free meal for anyone in the greater community who wishes to attend. We need your help to make it happen! Can you help on Sunday, Jan 26 to set up (around 9:45am), serve the meal (around 12:30pm) or cleanup (around 1:30pm)? You do not need to stay the entire day; just for your shift. We are also in need of homemade or store-bought desserts to share with our guests (drop off any time after 9:45am).  Sign up or contact Colleen

Questions about Annulments? Irregular Marriages?
The Catholic Church greatly values the Sacrament of Marriage, but also recognizes that sometimes marriages end. Even though the Church has pastoral processes to support persons after divorce, each situation is unique with its own particular circumstances. If you would like to learn more about how to reconcile previous marriages and/or find support following a divorce in a confidential setting, please contact Helen 206-935-0358

Australia is being ravaged by devastating bushfires. Fueled by record-breaking temperatures and months of severe drought, more than 24.7 million acres have burned —an area bigger than the state of South Carolina—and still growing! Dozens of people have died. Thousands of homes, livelihoods, and buildings have been destroyed. Estimates suggest that more than 1.25 billion animals may have been killed directly or indirectly from the fires. You can support the immediate response to the fires, crisis recovery, and long-term conservation efforts toward securing Australia's natural resources for people and nature in a time of climate emergency.   Donate to the World Wildlife Fund www.worldwildlifefund.org/au
