Please join with me in congratulating our 8th grade graduates! This week had many events and functions honoring them, including passing the "Light of Leadership" onto the current 7th grade class. Our 8th graders left their mark with us in many ways, even a literal mark of service on our hillside below the playground clearing the way for more natural growth. Thank you 8th grade students and families, and good luck as you move on to your high schools of choice!

Our 8th grade may be moving ahead on their journey, but on the other end of the spectrum, our 1st Grade shares this Cultural Parade with our school!

As we near the end of this school year, notes from your classroom teachers include schedule of returning any loaned devices, yearbooks, heading home, and other end-of year sundries. Any repairs to loaned devices will be reviewed and you'll be contacted by the office; charges applied in FACTS. Families returning next school year, your earthquake kits will be stored this summer. Other "next year" information is below and will continue to be updated on our website.

This afternoon, our students "jumped-up" to meet their next-year's teachers, including our incoming 4th grade teacher, Ms. Fuchs. Read more in her short bio here! We're excited to have Ms. Fuchs joining our OLG community this Fall. She currently has her own class at St. Ben's in Wallingford, but will be reaching out via video to our students to greet our students before the end of the year.

Finally as we round out events of this week, today we also held Student Council elections and I want to welcome our new student leadership team for 2021-22 school year:

Congrats to our incoming leadership team and to Mr. Casey for running a smooth and uncontroversial election (no recounts needed)! As we return this Fall to full, regular schedule of classes and look to continue to re-open to more normalcy, our student leaders will have their hands full on reimagining and reinventing the wonderful things we do here at OLG!

If you forgot to order, yearbooks are available at the front office while supplies last, $40 cash/check.

FACTS agreements for next school year will be finalized in the coming days. Watch for an email from FACTS confirming your payment schedule. (Your payment schedule will also be accessible in FACTS). Monthly tuition payments begin July 5, 2021.

The Parent Org is a great way to volunteer and get involved! Positions are open for next school year. Start accruing hours this summer for the 2021-22 school year

Monthly Parent Org meetings (2nd Tuesday of each month) are a great way to see what is going on and find a path to share your talents. The next PO meeting is Tues, June 8th 6:30 pm (zoom meeting). All parents/guardians are a part of the Parent Org! Please join us!

Students in K-4 who complete and return their packets to next year’s teacher on the first week of school will be eligible to participate in an ice cream treat. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Lawler. Middle schoolers (no ice cream party) just tests and a book assignment in September. Have a fun and safe summer!

All high school students who are graduating or finishing up their GED are invited to attend Mass at 5:30pm on Saturday, June 12 to receive a special blessing from the congregation. Let us celebrate you and pray for the graces you will need on your journey. RSVP by Tuesday, June 1 if you would like to participate.     

We welcomed a new couple into our Safe Parking lot this past week. We are happy to be up and running again! If you would like to support this effort, we need a few more volunteers to help maintain the Hospitality Hut. You can sign up for the days and/or times that work each month. For more information, contact Jennifer

All young adults (ages 18-39) are invited to a Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, June 19 at 1pm. Gather one or more people from your “bubble” and meet us in person, socially-distanced to receive your packet of clues. The hunt will take your team around the greater West Seattle area, then we’ll all gather to award prizes. If you would like us to add you to a team, just let us know. Or grab your dad for a fun Father’s Day weekend event! To sign up, email Jennifer by Friday, June 11. If you would like to be part of planning YA activities, let Jennifer know.
