The OLG School Chorus sings the National Anthem at the Mariner Game June 3rd
Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

We have been Growing in the Light of Christ all year and this past week has been a celebration of all the different ways we've grown. From last weeks' family group activities at Field Day, to our 8th graders beating the staff at the annual volleyball game (my how they've grown), we've had some fun celebrations!

Our Mariners may be in the middle of growing pains, but our 4th & 5th graders sang with great joy and enthusiasm at the game on Monday night! There are so many students joining Choir these days it seems like half the school is up there in the choir loft! Thanks to Ann and all the parishioners and families who supported this great capstone event this year!

Tuesday and Wednesday we honored our 8th graders with student gifts and memories shared. With the Light of Leadership Mass we passed the torch of leadership on to next year's 8th graders, and yes, Mr. Santos did choke-up a bit! Fr. Jack began our celebration of graduates reminding us that in our genesis, God recognizes us by saying, "You are good... VERY good!" In our graduation our 8th graders told the stories of their time of growth here at OLG, and we capped-off with alumn Julian Saterno (c/o 2014) giving us a preview of the growth to be expected ahead. Our graduates are heading out to great things at Holy Names, Kennedy, O'Dea, Seattle Prep, and West Seattle High Schools. We are so excited to see where our graduates grow next!

More immediately, we have some amazing events in the last remaining days of school this year. So many of us will be participating in this year's Loopthe'Lupe Saturday morning! It's Mr. Santo's and Fr. Jack's last one, so I hear even if you simply want to cheer them on, coming around the 11:00am start time is a great time to swing by! We also have Student Council Elections, 1st Gr. Salmon Chant, 4th Gr. play (Bee Gov.), and Jump-Up Day to look ahead to!

Finally, please plan on coming to our final school mass of the year, on the last day of school. Friday, June 14th at 9am we'll be specially honoring Fr. Jack and Mr. Santos. We say goodbye as a school to both of these dedicated ministers/teachers/leaders/friends of our children, families, and peers. They both have been truly integral to our growth as a community, and have set us all up for success as we move ahead. We look forward to all things new as we continue to Grow in the Light of Christ.
Yours in Christ,

Anton Kramer
